I told my wife after JRob's TD that he would only get

less than 5 carries the rest of the game. He now has 5 carries for 65 yards. I can't imagine why he doesn't get more carries. It makes no sense.

My point exactly. You nor me nor anyone else on this board has all of the information needed to make those type of decisions. And to make those type of judgements based solely on what you watch for three hours on the tv is illogical at best.

Well I certainly trust Mullen to make the right decision. He's been money all year.

What a ******* moronic reply. Missed assignments or not, he can run the ball. You know, the R in RB.

He shouldn't be having many assignments to miss. We should be running more, passing less.

We ran the diamond formation one time, 51 yards, and then didn't use it again for three series. Plus we wasted the first two series of the game with Russell. Plus we punt on fourth and one from their 38. More of the same.

It's gotta be tough being so damn smart. Whatever you do for a living you are farting away a very successful coaching career.

It simple, Mullen's entire program is about developing guys. It gives him a pass from having to recruit the 5 star talent, and it fans the flame that his staff can turn water into wine.

When end a younger player is out performing a Sr it flies in the face of all the things I just typed.

The best combination for MSU's offense in the future is Dak/Robinson with Perkins getting a drive or two a half when needed. Problem is, it doesn't jive with the first two sentences of this post.

The three things I mentioned are common sense...

and this is a 17ing message board, and I'll just go ahead and count you in the big group that is so happy because we "played hard" for an entire game for the first time in over a year. I don't drive for a living but I damn sure can tell when someone can't drive worth a damn. I'm also not a chef but I know when my food tastes like ****. Welcome to the board, Dan.

We wasted the first two drives but it wasn't because of Russell.

State is "playing for next year". Maturity is a nice commodity but talent is the difference between wins and losses. For example, it's one thing to burn Clayborn's redshirt for a spot start (against Kentucky), but to have him watching Beckwith the whole game is not improving the program.

The point of sports message boards clearly evades you like the idea of not running silly trick plays at inopportune times evades Hugh Freeze. If the participants aren't discussing tactics and strategy and decision making, what all is there to discuss? Jerseys? What channel the game is on in Iuka? How the refs cheated [insert team]? How PROUD you are of the EFFORT and how they will GET THEM next time, and how much you still BELIEVE in these wonderful young men?

He is so damn good. Can score on long runs, blocks well, catches well, turns
what should be a one yard gain into a five or eight yard gain. Mentally tough, catches it well. If competing everyday is Mullen's montra for these guys then he isn't giving this guy a fair shake and I think many of his personnel decisions are demoralizing to the team.

Wow -- have never really thought about it like that -- but I couldn't agree more.

Fact is -- Gabe Jackson is the only senior on the roster that we experience a clear drop off with his back up. I was impressed by our LB play today in the open field without Skinner out there. Seemed we got ALOT quicker sideline to sideline today in the run game...

the problem and solution offensively is mullen. always has been, always will be. he is the sole direction of the offense. we have to demand better or quit bitching when he does his thing. red or blue pill....pick one.

Our QB's had plenty of time, and I don't remember giving up a sack, so I don't think he missed many assignments.

I'm curious which of my three takes do you think is horseshit. So far all you're doing is trying to be sixpackspeak cool. You haven't "called out" anyone. Dubmass.

I agree. Future is pretty bright at LB.

Not sure how I feel about DE. Hopefully Jones can develop there, because if next year is Jefferson and Smith that's a little concerning. I had high hopes for Brown, but haven't heard much out of him this year.

Also, I thought our OL played the best game I've seen in a long time yesterday. We had a ton of time in the pocket to get rid of the ball...

Ok. All three points are horseshit.

To say we should run a formation because it was successful once is the exact thing my wife would suggest.

Using Tyler Russell was for so many more reasons than you obviously understand.

And the the punt was a basic jr high football decision.

So now your called out as a unsuccessful ill-informed Jr. Girls football coach who makes really stupid *** comments so that he oops she can look smart on an anonymous internet sports message board after watching a game on TV.

Hope you're happy.

Name the reasons why Russell was used, since there are so many. Let's start with 5 legitimate reasons. Go.

The really strange thing about that is our converted TE was one of the guys flying around making plays at LB.

So does he move back to defense to add depth to an already stacked position?

Change your username to glutton for punishment.

One. He missed two days of practice. Any respectable coach has a disciplinary policy of no practice no start. Mullen confirmed this after the game.

Two. The poor fella lost his mother to an emotional battle with cancer. He needed at least a series to balance the emotions. Mullen confirmed this after the game.

Three through five. See two.

I've thought Smith has at times been our best defensive lineman this year; he's been impressive. Smith and Chris Jones give us a core to add to to fill in the other two spots. Denico Autry has been solid but not spectacular, but I haven't really noticed a whole lot out of anyone else at that spot. My hope would be that Chris Jones, as he progresses, begins drawing double teams the way Fletcher Cox did and really opens things up for the other guys.

So, are you fearing a drop-off in DE production? I hope not. You're right that CJ will need to go back to DE.

This is redonkuless. I'll preface with the fact that I like Perk, and I hope he does everything in his career he wants.

Derunnya's performance should tell you all you need to know about our personnel choices. That and the running stats or that Griffin got zero carries.

Yah it would be dumb to use a formation that broke you a 51 yard td again**

Going back to last year I have not understood why Robinson does not get more touches. He is consistently more effective than Perkins in the limited action he gets.
