I want Matt Wyatt separated from the university.

He never defends and usually criticizes MSU on his radio show. Defend your school and paycheck or else MSU needs to separate.

So you want him to be a homer...

Like David Kellum and Richard Cross? No thanks

To those that aren't informed, Wyatt just said that MSU gets the same treatment as Alabama, LSU, etc and he has never believed that the league plays favoritism. A sentiment that 99% of this board believes otherwise. So take up for your back up QB analyst if you must.

So you want a university employee saying the SEC plays favorites? That's not going to happen. Even if it's true.

My take on Wyatt is this. The original sentiment of this topic is wrong. We do not need him to defend MSU 100%. I get sick of others from other schools that do this.

However, he does need to choose between the radio show and the school job. He cannot do both. On the radio show, he does try to be TOO impartial. Which is annoying, especially since the point of the show is MSU v. TSUN. He plays the middle of the road while Dick is way on the TSUN side. That makes no sense.

And, I do think he is too vocal sometimes if he is a 'face of the university'. Like the Boy Scouts tweet and others, he needs to either be a 'PC' employee of the school or he needs to be a 'fan of the school with a opinion to his own'.

I do not hate Wyatt and again, I do not believe the original post was anything close to right. just my $.02. I will hang up and listen.

This is about the Dylan Day situation. He's over reaching to bring up last year's 1 half suspension. When he's like the rest of us. He's going by footage shown over and over. Where NOTHING can be proven one way or the other. But speaking as a former football player, he should know football's a dirty sport. He should know as a former player that the center is taught to follow the play. You don't just freaking stand there as your QB is making his way upfield. He should know people get stomped on among other things. His analysis has yet to bring that up or show anything in Day's favor. When again, 99% of this very board believes otherwise. Not sure how Wyatt gets a pass to not even attempt to take up for one of our own.

Matt is an employee of Telesouth ..............

and Learfield sports. I don't believe he works for the university.

maybe not in $$, but he certainly is a face of the university and thus has to

uphold the standards of the university. He does not work in that capacity without the university's blessing. HE should treat the job as though he is getting paid by the school.

Agree with your second paragraph. I have thought the same and you have said it better than I have thought it. Dick Cross goes for the jugular, Matt seems to take too much crap and maybe is just too nice a guy personality wise. Dick is proactive and Matt reacts.

If he really doesn't believe there is favoritism, he must not remember the Nick Fairly show against Aaron Murray the year Auburn bought their championship. I think there was a head to head hit, a spear in the back leading with the helmet and a shot on his knee leading with the helmet and only one penalty and no suspension.

i respect matt for saying what he thinks instead of getting his marching orders and running with them. there is a lot of stuff like that....now a beat writer needs to be in constant sunshine pump mode. that is a different story.

Good grief. Matt does a good job and he represents us well.

Do I agree with everything he says? No, but frankly I don't even agree with everything I say myself!

Is there not something more productive to be upset about?

What has he done to not uphold the standards of the university? Has he been arrested or embarassed the university in any way? He gave his opinion on something. Why should he have to pump sunshine all the time. I like the face that you get some objectivity out of him. Cross comes off as a biased idiot on the show.

Judging by the lack of reaction from Mullen and Strickland, I'm guessing they know the suspension was warranted.

ETA: I just seen a video where mullen said he disagreed with the ruling.

If he can't speak his mind while hosting a sports call in show maybe he needs to give up one of the jobs.

Wyatt is goob central. I don't necessarily like a big dork representing our interests on a state wide radio show.

That's stupid even without the video of Mullen disagreeing. We get tens of millions of dollars a year from the SEC, Slive provides significant protection from the NCAA to all SEC schools, and if you believe the rumors, also strongly discourages schools from trying to poach head coaches from within the SEC.

The suspension is complete ********, but while Slive is very biased in things like this, he's much less biased in other areas, and he will become biased in all areas if Stricklan and Mullen make a big ordeal out of this. I think we do a poor job of managing that relationship, but there's no doubt Slive's got us by the short and curlies and it's a lot easier to second guess actions of the weaker partner in those situations than it it is to effectively manage a relationship like that as the weaker partner.

I get what you're saying. Mullen and Strickland are in between a rock and a hard place with this. They can go on the defensive but nothing will change.

My problem is not with the suspension its with the SEC not letting Mullen decide what is appropriate. Seems Saban got that luxury last year when his player suplexed someone.
