were told not to come to the Lashley announcement tomorrow. He is supposedly signing with Alabama. This is coming straight from a media member that would no doubt be invited. This is inexcusable if it plays out.

IF, IF, IF this is true, it shows 1) complete lack of interest in recruiting by the staff, in particular the head man, and 2) incompetence.

How in the hell do you miss a two inch putt?

My fault for not expecting this.

If this is true.....no, regardless if it's true or not, after signing day there needs to be a very serious assessment of how Mullen and the other coaches are recruiting. Strick needs to sit down and have a long talk with everyone and figure out where the problem is. I guarantee you Byrne would've already had his foot knee deep in someone's ***. This s#!t needs to be fixed.

Not to beat a dead damn horse, too, but let's not forget those jackasses in Oxford and how they are dick deep in NCAA paperwork and they are STILL making Mullen look like a chump.

If true, Sallach and Big John need to be fired Thursday. Need to completely overhaul the way we do things.

Is he a weekend? If so, let's get him in for a player this visit.

Dan Mullen can't keep people around him who get paid 10x what most of us make. Why on God's green earth should we expect anyone to want to do it for free?

Sad if true. However from the viewpoint of the kid I can understand it. He has a chance to be the centerpiece of the Alabama Offensive attack---ESPN commentators rave about Alabama's OL. Or he can be coached up by John Hevesey, if I was an 18 year old kid I don't think I would choose Hevesey.

I'm at a loss for words if this is true. Need to fire Heavsy.

He obviously is not someone kids want to play for. Former player told me that today as well.

Attn all two star recruits from Sun Belt and CUSA schools. HMU if your are open to flipping without making a visit. Might have a spot or 12 available.

I don't know why I'm surprised. I really don't. I mean hell we all knew Mullen had one foot out the door and a huge chunk of the most important people on staff actually did hit the road. There was no reason not to see this coming but still I guess I'll just never learn.

We redshirted 18 last year. I say just sign the ones we get and Mccrae if we can get him. Fire hev and sallach and start '17 recruiting right now

This is what happens when your coaches mail it in for a little while because they think they'll be in greener pastures at season's end. Too little too late. This may be the lowest rated class since Croom.

And I don't want to hear that the town is the reason either, Howland came in and recruited like a man on a mission. I was honestly hoping Dan would learn something from him but Dan is probably too arrogant to ask him and learn from him. Heck Cohen and Dan are kind of close.

To be fair, bball and football recruiting are two different animals. However, Howland was a proven commodity in virtually every aspect of being a head coach. Dan Mullen is just the highest paid offensive coordinator in the history of football.

You're an idiot based on that last sentence. Dan's a great head coach no matter what happens with signing day this year.

I'm not saying this is not true I just don't believe it. He announced his final 3 was state, LSU and Bama. Why would he tell the most likely media to show up not to show up, especially after he announced state in his final 3. Just not buying this one. Does not make much sense.

We'll have to disagree. I think he does a great job with the offense, but outside of that, he doesn't strike fear in anyone. Defense, special teams, and recruiting have all been inconsistent during his entire tenure.

What a 17ing disaster.

We may end up with 1 of 4 big targets in our back yard, IF, we can hang on to Jones.

A kid might go to a school 100 miles from home that has won 4 of 7 national championships and you think MSU's coaches somehow aren't interested in the recruiting process? These 18 year old kids don't think like you do. They are much more mature.

Certainly impressed with his ability to bounce back from getting his *** waxed in the egg bowl by competing on the recruiting trail. **

So, you're saying this is all a crazy ploy to pull a grand switcheroo in elaborate fashion?

Okay, Nostradamus, if the shoe was on the other foot in Alabama, how do you think it would be received there?

These kinds of statements are as ridiculous as Weiner comparing UM football to MSU basketball recruiting. Absolutely no comparing Howlands coaching resume to either of them. It is completely conceivable that kids would play for Howland anywhere he goes so they can get to the league.

No, I'm saying it makes no sense that he would tell MSU media to stay away. He may sign with Bama for all I know. I'm saying no matter who he signs with, bonner from the CL will be there.

Maybe I didn't word that correctly. They asked them if they needed to show up to cover the anouncement and were told no because he was signing with Bama. They weren't banning them from showing up.

Wait, is this announcement tomorrow supposed to be a secret or something?
