Do these people never leave home? I have (gasp) even tailgated with LSU fans at LSU who I did not know. And why is it noteworthy that the guy gladly taking your money for parking said "welcome to Ole Miss"? The 17ing minimum wage workers at the front in Applebees say the same ****. I don't then write a letter about it to tell them how awesome that is.

Not only that... but where the 17 did they not go if they didn't see anyone that "had too much to drink"? Not only did they blow a lot of **** out of proportion, but it's a few things that makes it seem like they didn't really do too much on campus anyway.

GOLD:

We ran into no one that had had too much to drink and we did not see trash lying around on the ground.

I'm surprised about the lack of trash. The grove looked like an empty lot in....

she also wrote: The ole miss fans were barfing everywhere from drinking to much, but had the courtesy to clean all their upchuck from the sidewalks. One ole miss fan barfed on me and cleaned it off with his shirt. Such nice fans at ole miss.

Obviously this is just pure mockery by Auburn of Ole Miss... I mean a letter from not member of the Auburn Athletic Department, Nor the president of the univ, nor the president of the Student Association, nor the local Girl Scout Troop, but the PARENTS of the 3rd string Long Snapper!!!! And they have added their son's name to the letter to more clearly justify their net worth to the cause. I would like to take a venture to guess that this player, Forrest Hill, was a lot like a high school classmate of mine. This guy was walked, hand in hand to every 1st period class of the day all the way through his senior year of high school by his father... even if he had his knee high white socks yanked up to his ankles. That kids name was Anthony Stacks.... While I do feel bad that both of Anthony's older brothers were both lost to drug overdoses it was no reason to treat Anthony that way. I just hope that Forrest does not end up like Anthony! Anthony showed up to the 10 year reunion as a woman! Prayers needed fro Mr. Forrest Hill.... maybe I should take this message to Gene's page or do you think Maryanne would ban me?

I call BS on this thing. I just find it completely unbelievable that someone not associated with the university would send a letter like this unsolicited. They are truly desperate to hang their hat on something to put this propaganda out there for the world to see.

This. Especially considering that nothing special happened to them while at OM.

Busted.

I must confess that it was me; I penned this letter. It is a shameful thing that I have done, but I couldn’t help myself. As I sat in the Grove after the Auburn game surrounded by virulent racists, obnoxious drunks, and virulently racist obnoxious drunks, I was overcome by the desire to do something - anything - to salvage the tarnished reputation of the Grove.

Sure, the unending praise of national media outlets has been nice, I thought, but what was really needed was a personal touch. And then it struck me - a letter! Any university can pay off desperate, starving journalists to regurgitate the same old laudatory garbage about the Grove (majestic oaks, Southern hospitality, rivers of bourbon, beautiful women, etc.), but that trick is played out. I suspect that no one even pays attention to the articles and television features any more.

But a letter! No one would see this coming. Yet I worried - what if my perfidy was discovered? What if my mendacity further damaged my beloved university? This deception had to be airtight. And then, while reviewing old recruiting articles, I came across the name Forrest Hill, whom Ole Miss had recruited but now plays for Auburn. It was at that moment that the plan came together. I would write the article on behalf of an actual person; and not just any actual person, but the parents of a football player at the very university which we had just defeated. No one could possibly foil such a cunning scheme. And so I wrote it.

But alas, I did not consider these brilliant investigatory minds, this crack team of gumshoes, here at SPS. In retrospect, I had little hope of success. I suspect I might have gotten away with it if I had simply complimented the Grove and left well enough alone. But I just had to add the line about no one having too much to drink and no trash lying around. Such blatant falsehoods were a bridge too far. And now the jig is up. Well played, SPS, well played.

See - we knew it was fake!!

Thanks for coming forward, bro. Maybe the next time somebody writes a real letter, they'll mention your honesty along with your fine trees and beer selection. Did Hugh Freeze sign your Thesaurus after the game? That would be cool!

Can you elaborate on Freeze being a slimeball?

Freeze probably wrote that letter.

Dude is a slime ball.

What has he ever done to be a slimeball?

When he was in college, he used to tutor kids at the orpanage in Independence(i have a relative that worked there at the time). How many slimeballs go and tutor kids in bad circumstances? When i was in college, all i cared about was drinking, clubbing and finding chicks. This guy was doing good for less fortunate people when he was a young. That doesn't sound like a slimeball to me. Sounds like a good dude.

If it was any other poster but FlabLoser, I would think there was plenty of sarcasm in his post. Unfortunately, I think Flab was being serious, which makes him a huge douche.
