But then I read some opinions on a couple of message boards and realized:
I shouldnt take any enjoyment out of beating a team that had already given up. No, none at all. Their players and fans being arrogant asses shouldnt be a consideration.
I should be embarassed that we are the only school to cheapen itself so badly as to market itself in it's own endzone. Except for the fact that it worked.
There is just no enjoyment that Mullen, just an average coach at best, has really not beaten anyone because: if you cannot beat Bama, Arkansas, LSU or Auburn the last three years you obviously arent very good. Of course there are many very good coaches who have. Houston Nutt comes to mind. He beat both Arkansas and LSU in the last 3 years. Beating Florida at Florida coached by Meyer and throttling Michigan on New years day are but sidenotes.
That our future is very dim when it comes to the rivalry between us and LSU's main rival. Our dominant oldermadam of the plantationis poised to show the world thatpaying for 2 head coaches and 2 sets of assistants for a number of years is actually a competitive advantage in the SEC and the recipe for immediate success.
That Mullen has been so bad, that he's rumored for jobs at Miami, Florida, Penn State, Georgia. And yet, in retrospect, 2 bowls in 3 years starting from what he found in 2008 is nothing short of unacceptable and most reasonable fans of teams that are in shambles unanimously agree, he's just not that good of a coach.
