I would have put Hicks back in at Safety.

then again I am a guy willing to make in game adjustments and take players off the field if it means "best chance to win".

I know he was running well again but we had ZERO physicality back there. Zero. James and Martin could have handled the running game.

For those who got to see Hicks last week at Army, the guy was making plays (and I am not just talking about the int). Solid hits.

Maybe Maryland isn't running up the middle so wide open. who knows. I am just tired of seeing a certain undersized player back there always playing so far off the ball and chasing everything a bit too late. Did Hester play today?

I hope we can get some big hitters back there again next year.

Oh well. "maybe next year"

Hester and Jacobs were out. Hicks was our best RB today. Not much we could do back there today. Horrible season thankfully over.

This.
Only Hampton and Wharton had decent games today, the other two starters not so much. ( same pattern here).

You were only using Hicks @ RB 1/3 of the time. He was DESPERATELY need on D. But, who needs in game adjustments.

Gone are the days with guys like Courtney Greene when we just didn't give up long runs. Every time a guys broke free, he was there to keep it from being a huge play.

Where the heck were the safties on any of those long runs?

This possibly could be one of the worst defenses Rutgers has had since the Shea days.
