Hey sport, yes you beat us at home and you all played a great game. Pope had a better season than Cal, more wins this year and 8 of them against top 15 teams. How many did you all have ? We both made it to the sweet sixteen so you didn't out perform us. Just keep reminiscing about your one title in 94.

You aren't winning one with Calipari. He won only one here with nothing but NBA players every year. Say what you want about Hurley or Self but they would have won several with the talent that was here.

He will choke every time just like he did here over and over and at Memphis. Hell if there would of been 10 more minutes left in the 2012 natty he probably would of choked that away just like he did against Texas Tech .

Enjoy the under achievement and just keep printing the retro shirts celebrating your 94 season.
Arkansas was literally a loss to South Carolina away from missing the tournament. That was a loaded roster according to most pig fans.
Next season’s Razorback team is not as good as this past one.

We’ll see. Pringle/Ewin is an upgrade on paper over Aidoo/Z according to most metrics. Still need to add a couple more pieces.

Pringle/Erwin is not an upgrade over Aidoo/Z/Thiero, no way would I take the former over the latter.
Yeah, wasn’t including Thiero as part of that since he’s more of a 3/4 but the stats back it up for the other two.

How are you calculating those %'s?
When people report stats like these, they often do so in an uninformed way.
For example points produced is biased toward players who play more. Z and Aidou shared 1 position, so played less (probably). Fewer minutes >> naturally fewer points.

You need an upgrade at coach, if you want to get somewhere.

No Final Fours in the last decade. Only two Elite Eights and three Sweet Sixteens in that timeframe.

But he sure was an upgrade over Muss. Muss only had two Elite Eights and three straight Sweet Sixteens in five seasons at Arkansas.

LOL!

It’s also how they fit in Cal’s system. Ewin will be good but I don’t think Cal will take advantage of his passing ability because he never does with big men. Aidoo also was hurt snd it seemed like Cal didn’t figure out how to use him until the last month of the season. Theiro is definitely the best player of them all IMO. Z sucks except for shooting so no doubt that’s an upgrade especially physically.

Look for drama in the Arkansas backcourt with Wagner and the incoming Freshman. I would not be happy with this roster if I were a Razorback fan.

Muss was trying to leave for 2 years to go out west.
I can't control who they hire.

He didn't have any problems with the incoming freshman Boogie Fland. You are just hoping because of your Cal and by proxy, Wagner hate. By all signs, he was a very solid teammate last year.

Kinda did until he got hurt.. If he hadn't gotten hurt they'd not made the tourney.. Best thing that could have happened..

At least you realize, unlike other Arkansas fans, that Cal was actually a downgrade from Muss.

Some Hog fans thought Cal was a savior and were very disappointed when they found out he struggles under pressure and is a terrible X’s and O’s Coach.

He needs an overwhelming amount of talent, like once in a lifetime talent (AD) to even have a shot at another title.

Not saying it will never happen, but he needs elite athletes across the board and one or more superstars to be successful.

In this era of college basketball, continuity and retention and multi year development is the key to success. Those are things Cal has struggled with over the years.

He needs a team that can just go out and “out athlete” everyone. That is a hard team to build in this day and age.

Looking back, Cal really did seem to catch lightning in a bottle in 2012. Perfect timing with a transcendent player (AD), a couple of elite Freshmen that played like Seniors (MKG and Teague), and three starters back from a Final Four team (Miller, TJ, and Lamb). Especially with the NBA lockout forcing TJ to come back to college. Very fortuitous for Cal. He never caught a break like that again, and probably never will again. It was a team that even he could not mess up. Heck, even Seth Greenberg wins the title with that team.

Nobody has hit the portal yet this year.
Cal needs to hire a X and O's guy. He can get the players but the rest of his coaching is limited.

The last year with Muss the team imploded, Muss and the players cussing each other during games.
I don't think Muss has coached anywhere for long.

Big Z and Casmir Chavis both hit the portal
They don't count one bench warmer played in 1 game last year, for Z just to soft for today's game
You can't blame him for going to play with his brother.

Edit I guess you could count Z but he was probably told he not going to get to play here.

It does count you said NOBODY has hit the portal when in fact 2 players did.

Casmir Chavis was one of the oddest things I've ever seen Cal do. Chuck Martin was given some AWFUL information on this kid. He was a big name player locally in Twin Cities since he was 13/14. Problem is he peaked at 15 yrs old. Didn't put in work, had a horrible attitude and is best known for tricking a layup in the State Championship game that would've won the game and losing in OT. Body Language, attitude, work ethic are all beneath an F- and he was one of the first players dumped by the new Washington coach when they finally fired Hopkins.

Nobody in Twin Cities understood Arkansas taking this guy. I'll never forget talking with 2 different people who were at Pangos Camp (one was from outside of MN and other was a local Twin Cities guy who gushes about anything in this state) and they said he was so bad at the Camp that people thought it was a charity case.

I'm guessing Calipari asked Martin "WTF are you doing?" after a week of having him on the roster.

The problem is, Cal has no interest in bettering his coaching staff. He wants yes-men. And the problem is deeper than just X and O deficiency… it’s scouting deficiency. Cal has long held the belief that if his players “be the best version of themselves”, then he isn’t concerned about what the other team is doing/going to do.

Jon Robic was Cal’s best assistant, largely because he was in charge of the scout. When he was forced out after his daughter’s untimely death, Cal’s tenure at Kentucky went steeply downhill.

Did you see Tyler Herro torch the Bulls last night? Think about this: Cal had Herro, PJ Washington, Keldon Johnson, Nick Richards, and Reid Travis on the same team and couldn’t even get to the FF. That’s 4 current NBA players (two of them stars) and another guy who was a 2x first-team all-Pac10.

Another year he had 5 first-round picks, including 3 future NBA all-stars, and got beat be a drunk coach and a midget guard who’s now coaching the Celtics.

Cal is not a bad person. But he is horrifically stubborn and conceited, doesn’t take criticism well at all, and doubles down on poor decisions.
