They did a story on an ice breaker in the Hudson River this morning. The captain noted this has been a record year for ICE on the Hudson. TWC spent 5 minutes on that story then spent the next half hour naming several cities that MIGHT break their record high temp today by A DEGREE. 🙄

At any point during the broadcast were the terms "bombogenesis" "atmospheric river" or "bomb cyclone" utilized?

And dingle is one of the more educated people on this board and he doesn't know the difference between climate and weather.

I remember when it was "the next ice age". 13 year old me switched from aerosol deodorant to stick. I consider the matter closed
You probably were an idiot at 13 and didn't understand heading into an ice age meant that the next natural climate cycle is actually a deep glaciation that would likely end current civilization, just that this glaciation will take 50,000 years. For reference, our current warming since 1850 should have taken about 10,000 years.

Dude, that potato gun probably sped up that 32 million year glacial cycle to 7.4 years from now.

Way to go.
Hahaha!

Right?

America will switch over to the metric system (remember hearing about that all the time) and I will actually use my quicksand safety training, before there is some sort of climate issue that matters.

There was ONE sign between Kansas City and Columbia Missouri along I-70 that had the distance to Columbia in both kilometers and miles in the early 80s. I wonder if it’s still there. 🤔

We heard virtually no repetition of the fact that the LA fire released more green house gasses in a week than all of human activity over the past century.
True!

Plus, the climate is going to change! There are only two options. The climate either stays exactly the same or it changes. That is it.

Climatebros seem to not get that.

Wow! All of those climate scientists have never considered that before. Amazing!

Down here the weather warming alarmists were saying the Florida Keys would be under water by 2010. We're good... no water issues thus far. So strange.

Right?
Climatebros act like climate change just started in the late 1980's.
Nobody who knows anything about climate change would say it just started changing. Climate is always changing like your blood pressure. Some climate change is catastrophic like the Permian Extinction Event or Triassic/Jurassic Extinction events. These were both caused by unprecedented increases in carbon dioxide levels due to magmatic plumes burning through the crust. Ironically, it is knowledge of the fragile stability of the climate that terrifies climate scientists. The climate changes extremely easily and has no preference for life or human civilization. Even small volcanic eruptions in the 14th century and the 6th century can be tied to the collapse of empires and global pandemics. Going back to blood pressure. It changes, but large punctual changes can be deadly. Same thing applies to our climate, civilization, and life. Regardless, life will go on. But climate is fragile and our society even more so.

Are you saying that a person with a high school education, YouTube and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express is not as smart as all of the climate scientists?

I did not say it, it is what Climatebros think.

No climate scientist would say that...the sea-level is rising by millimeters. You will be ash and bones by the time Florida sees any major changes but millimeters x 500 years changes a lot. Where would Florida be today if sea-level started rising in 1492? There have been 8-10k generations of humans, we should hope there are 8-10k more who can live as well as we have.

It did start rising...then it falls a bit...then it rises again.

It is because it is not even remotely true. Not only are you so ignorant that you can't spell greenhouse gases, but you have no understanding of the magnitude of carbon released by human activities. Large wild fires released MILLIONS of TONS of carbon to the atmosphere. Humans release BILLIONS of Tons of carbon...so we are talking 2-3 orders of magnitude more from an annual release by human industry. I know you live in the middle of nowhere but there are 3 billion people in India and China alone, all burning fuels releasing Co2. It would take you 200 years to count everyone alive that is burning fuels today. Not saying we should stop but the level of greenhouses gases being released is unprecedented in the history of the earth outside of its early formation. Maybe if you turned off AM radio and read a book you would know just enough to know you don't know.

My advice?
Listen to actual climate scientists, not ‘climatebros’, climate alarmists or climate deniers. Similar to how I listen to an actual doctor for medical advice instead of a politician or random internet guy.
So, it sounds like you saying that "we" should pretty much shut the **** up when it comes to things that "we" don't study/work with?

AFUCKINGMEN

Can you hit up like 10 other threads and post the same exact thing, please? So some of these guys can figure it out?

My prayer for you is that the effects from climate change will be delayed enough that you will be dead and forgotten by your descendants before life becomes much harder. I would hate to be remembered as the generation that lived ignorant, immoral lives that doomed our loved ones to misery and privation. But that is just me I guess. And that might be the case. 500 years is a long time, but humans in 500 years will think they are the humans of today, like the humans of today. Let them not remember their idiot ancestors, like we have forgotten ours.
