Icloud question - how do you know it backed up your apps?...

I've never been able to find the answer to that question. However, on another note, your "saved photos" or "camera roll" on iPhone or iPad does not get backed up when you sync iTunes. You must back those up manually if you use iTunes for syncing your device. When the USB connect window pops up you can do it from there with drag and drop.

You apps are actually saved in you itunes account. What I mean is that even if you delete every app on your phone, you can go to the app store and click on purchased and download them all again for free as long as you use the same apple id. If you have synced it in itunes they are also already there. My phone backs up to icloud but also syncs with itunes over wifi when it is plugged into a charger.

You can also just buy an app once and download it to multiple devices, iphone, ipad, itouch....... and only pay for it once.

Now if you are asking how to save documents to icloud or spreadsheets, that is a little different.

Yes and I have never understood apps backups. You can always re-download them from the App Store. You will not be charged twice.

Overall, I must say iTunes sucks. To a lesser extent, iCloud sucks. They are poorly thought out, unintuitive, and obscure.

Yes but I would not update to the new one yet. On certain computer it will not work at all. I updated a new macbook pro to the new itunes and it will not allow me to play music, buy music, or sync my devices. Apple says they are working on a fix.
