If Armstrong sits out next game

Do we have a chance to see Darlington? He really impressed me in the Spring game and I like his Ganz-like spark. He was a 4 star QB with big offers on the table before his injury scares. He must have some talent?

Anybody in the know? Will he play if Ryker is having a bad game or is he off limits because of injury history?

I'd rather see Zach start over Fyfe in the first place...

Would really throw the Gophers staff for a curve if it happens.

He moved to WR and took Sam Foltz's place as the holder this year. Not sure what more you need to figure out than that.
He can do some things though that Fyfe can't. It wouldn't surprise me to see him get his number called if Fyfe struggles but Riley seems to ride the horse he came with even if it's stumbling.

I know it's out there...but my hope is the pull POB's RS over both of them. I have zero confidence that Fyfe is going to win a game for NU. No matter how much they plan the offense around him.

I forgot that he had switched to WR.
I selfishly want to see OBrien but unless they plan on starting him the rest of the year, it would be a total waste.

What I fear is, our run game has not been nearly strong enough to just run the ball the entire game. If armstrong ends up being out for awhile and Ryker is hurt or is playing poorly, what do we do?

Darlington has in fact been practicing at QB this fall. He's been our 3rd string guy on the road at the very least and TA was coaching him up when he came back on the sideline. Darlington I believe would have been in the game IF RF had gone down.

You do realize that POB was 4th string in fall camp....Supposedly he's practicing better but I'm not sure you would like what you saw from him behind our O line.

If TA sits out POB needs to go ahead and finish the season. It's a waste of time playing a Sr walk on and ZD doesn't need to be playing. The kid needs to get game experience and then let the battle begin next year for starter.

If POB is the best player, pull the shirt. Still a lot to play for. A good bowl game will look great for recruiting.

I'm sure a lot has to do with how long Tommy will be out 1or 2 weeks if at all.

The staff should discus this with POB. I'd rather see POB play over Fyfe just to get some experience for the future what do we have to lose.... The future is now.

I honestly don't care if TA can come back. His play has been downright bad lately. I'd rather roll with POB and get him game experience and then a ton of bowl practice prep.

POB will not play, unless both Fyfe and Darlington are injured. Tanner Lee has 2 years of eligibility so by pulling POB's redshirt he would realistically only have 1 year to start. In case anyone hasn't noticed we aren't exactly playing for anything other than a decent bowl game at this point. Wiscy is gonna win out so our CCG hopes are toast. This staff knows that getting POB for 2 years at 22 and 23 is better for the program than getting him for 3 games at 18.

Well...this probably won't happen but he could play this year, redshirt next year.

You don't know that Wisconsin will win out.

It's all interesting to consider...

Don't you owe it to this year's team - and especially this year's Seniors - to do everything you can to win the next game?

All of this is mute if POB simply is not ready to play yet. But, if he is better than Fyfe - and especially if everyone on the team knows it - does the staff run the risk of losing the team if they deliberately put a lesser team on the field?

This is all speculative, as I have no way of knowing whose the better QB on 11/6/2016 - Fyfe or O'brien.

His QB situation and his true availability due to the concussion issue is what I wanted to figure out, which you clearly do not know. Thanks for taking the time to respond though.

it's all for nothing as TA will be cleared and will play.

Say what we will about TA on the field. This kid is a competitor like no other. We blast the millennial generation for wanting things handed to them but TA isn't like that. To be honest I wish I had his ability to always get up no matter what. I respect that kid so much!
