If Clemson loses, who is the 4th team in the playoff?

Currently Clemson down 9-7 in 2nd quarter:

3 choices are:

- UNC
- Stanford
- Ohio State

I go with Stanford - presuming they defeat USC - since they're a conf. champ - played 9 conf games plus 2 P5 OOC opponents in NW and ND.

OSU is not a conf champ and played a mediocre OOC schedule

UNC played 2 1AA squads.


3 definites in are:

- Bama
- Oklahoma
- Winner of MSU - Iowa

I think OSU is one of the 4 best teams but if Stanford wins and Clemson losses then I think Stanford gets in over OSU.

If north Carolina gets in with 2 fcs teams on schedule then the entire system needs go be scrapped. Houston deserves it more than UNC. OSU, stanford, even the loser of MSU Iowa deserves it more.

UNC would probably get in by virtue of being a conference champ with less losses than USC/Stanford. Ohio State is a better team than any of them though, but didn't even win their own division unfortunately.

If I was on the committe, I would take Ohio State. I would obviously look at all the comparisons, stats, records...........but the bottom line for me, they are one of the best 4 teams in America.

If the criteria is best 4 teams, then Ohio state it is.

If memory serves me, The only time OSU trailed MSU was on the last play of the game. OSU should get in , IF UNC knocks off Climpsen.

Remeber that this is the same UNC with pretty much the same players that even a flood led Rutgers was able to curb stomp in a bowl game last year.

Both teams are overrated by they are still so much better than the rest of the pathetic acc that they made them look like killers.

Stanford is in with a win and a Clemson loss. If Stanford loses most likely its UNC. Best shot OSU had was for Bama and Stanford losses

Not going to happen. First off, Clemson will have to lose. They'd have to lose very badly. Second, the Iowa/MSU game will play a bigger part than idle OSU, and no way a two loss Stanford, who is currently losing to USC will jump three spots to replace a 12-1 Clemson team. No way. If MSU beats Iowa, MSU will replace Iowa in the playoff, and I don't see Clemson dropping enough to be replaced by a two loss Stanford playing a close game with 8-4 USC or an idle Ohio State who didn't even win their own division. UNC is just silly, they're #10 right now, no way they are jumped 6 spots in a week. Not going to happen. I can see them getting slotted to 6, but no higher.

That's not the way it works. If Clemson loses they are out. Period. The Iowa MSU winner is in. Bama and OU are in. The question is who moves in if Clemson loses. It will be Stanford if they win. If Stanford and Clemson both lose it will get interesting. If will depend on how much credit they give a UNC for beating the #1 team and how much weight is given to winning the conference. I don't think UNC's resume is good enough and OSU will get in ahead of them.

If MSU wins, then OSU will only have a loss to one of the top four teams, and closed out with a convincing win against a very good Michigan team. Stanford has two losses. If there is any justice, it will be OSU, but isn't Condi on the committee?

HAHHAHAHHAHAHA you obviously do not know how the ACC works with Carolina refs. Clemson was in no danger of losing.
