My *** would be cussing John Cohen out right now at 2 17ing AM. That **** was horrible. All I ask for is common sense from a baseball coach. Every other 17ing school in the SEC can find that. But apparently we get stuck with either a creepy old guy, a *****, or a guy who is trying to re-invent the wheel. That was so bad, I can't let it go. I for one am tired of hearing about how "our team is built for our park" as if Dudy-Noble was built for ****** JUCO hitter. Bunch of pieces of ****. Just trot in a left hander that throws **** and it's game over. They couldn't hit water if I dropped their sorry asses in the ocean. Especially if there are runners on base. I'm tired of hearing about how an inch that way and it's a hit- guess what? It's called scouting. Now we're probably going to get swept by a bunch of inbreds. I'm also tired of having a bunch of head cases on the damn pitching staff every single 17ing year. Everyone else can find four functional pitchers except for us. I'll say it- we're about to be in our long *** inexcusable 20 game losing streak that everyone else seems to manage to avoid. As for now, I'm done with these ********. To all of them, they can kiss my ***.
good night everyone!

good stuff as usual.... this one hurt... I hate it sometimes that I love the Bulldogs so much that I couldn't even watch the computer for being so damned nervous.... then I come back and that computer screen throws a vicious upper cut to my gut... 6 17ing outs away from progress... we had the guy/guys to come in I think... stratton tossing that pitch after 7 in that situation to a .154 hitter sux about as bad as it gets./... son of *****...

I have a feeling that your 6pack status of baseball expert is more of a 'self-proclaimed' sort of deal, just the fact that you talk about it all the time. Half the **** you say is just stating the obvious.

The one time I ever heard Todd do that was last year when the show was broadcasting from somewhere in Madison and Todd was in the audience. So he wasn't hiding behind the phone or anything like that. <div>
</div><div>And how bad did we need that win last night? ****. Everybody is pissed right now. Last nights loss was just more of the same MSU baseball misery and failure to produce a big stage. It's why we've been to Omaha 8 times and never even sniffed the final week. We choke. We make dumb decisions. Ron Polk, Patty Mac, now Cohen. </div>

Especially coming from you. That was beautiful. Can't say that I would dispute a single thing in it, either. It has been 4 years since an MSU baseball team has done a damn thing of any consequence at all. Four years of ineptness that is unequaled. Someone tell me just what it is that just about everyone else in this conference has to offer in the college baseball realm that we don't. The **** at Vandy just blows my mind. There are podunk schools all over this country that could, and have, kicked our asses on a regular basis. Just take a look at the polls. It is mindboggling as to why this **** continues to happen in baseball year after year. And no more Polk comments please. I have heard that ad nauseum.

In his 4 years we had 1 CWS, 2 super regionals and 1 regional final. We'd kill someone for that kind of record now. It's the best 4-year stretch in our schools history. And 2 years after he left we had more players drafted in the major league draft than any other year in our history, which destroys the myth that he "left the cupboard bare" like we hear the Polk apologists say almost right up until he "retired."

I was actually offered a chance to be an assistant high school coach when I was a student teacher. I turned it down because I knew I was going to go into the medical field. More money, less stress. My Dad played at MSU and my uncle pitched in MLB for nine years with Kansas City and St. Louis. Uncle also coached in the minors for quite awhile for San Dioego, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Los Angeles. I've also had a couple of teams offer me a job as a scout. Again, see above about more money and less stress. I would go to spring training with my uncle. Learned a LOT about baseball doing that. As far as being a baseball expert, that's totally a sixpack thing. If I call myself an expert or guru or whatever, it's definitely tongue in cheek. As far as stating the obvious, that may be true, but I think it's better to do that than overanalyze.

I USE to be an asst. t-ball coach, so does that make my baseball expertise more of Todd4State? I think so. shut the 17 up Todd. We all are pissed at the way baseball has fallen off the map, but anyone can see that Cohen has drastically improved the team in 4 years. and it will only get better. If anyone wants him fired then fork over the money for his buyout.

We would kill for his 4 year results now. I often have wondered IF McMahon wishes he would have stayed at Msu, as you know there are two sides to his reason of leaving, 1) he hated RP messing with his program and 2) he left for family reasons, but it was probably a little of both.

I do think McMahon wouldn't have had us in the mess we are in now, he just had a different sytle back then with "small ball", but he would be perfect now. I've been following Msu baseball since 1970 (closely) and the last 5 or 6 years have just made me sick, NEVER did I think we would be were we are now with Msu baseball. I do like Cohen, but I'm beginning to wonder if he can take us to the top, I think he will win but I'm not sure how much or even it will be enough, way too many powers in the SEC now and that ain't gonna change.

You should copy and paste this. It would save you from typing it out every couple of months.<div>
</div><div>Seriously, we get your baseball resume. You've shared it countless times. So many times that when I saw GH's post, I would have literarlly bet that "uh oh", here comes the "my uncle was a Cardinal and took me to spring training" story.</div>

He does a good job (along with 8dog) with keeping up with High School and Juco players. He understands the game but most of all he has a passion like a lot us do for Msu baseball. Fact is at least he knows whats going on and along with 8dog I pay more attention to what they say, I don't always agree but they know baseball.

I know we freaking suck. However we do suck somewhat less than we sucked last year. Cohen was left a shitheap to deal with but he better get this crap turned around soon because it won't be long before all of Polk's guys are gone and this will be his mess and his alone.

So basically, your dad supposedly played but YOU played the flute all through high school and college. The thing w/ message boards is, the community usually considers posters "experts" if they post every 13 seconds and write 1,000 word posts at 2 in the morning b/c they don't have anything else to do.<div>
</div><div>You also said defense was 80% of the teams problem last year, which is all I need to know about your baseball knowledge.</div>

Or maybe I know what the hell I'm talking about. What are you an expert in? Jack ****. Nothing. And I believe I said that defense was 40%. Thanks for proving you can't even post right. And guess what? Our defense improves and now we have about as many wins as last year. Way to show me up on that one.

"My credentials". I'd like to see what the 17 y'alls are. As if you have to have credentials to post an opinion. I think that's a sixpack rule to question that anyway. And yes, I realize that BulldogBruce has better credentials than me. BTW, people like Peter Gallons ajd George Will among others played very little and they seem to know what they are talking about. But other than the douche who thinks that being an assistant t-ball coach is better than having a scouting job, I haven't seen **** from you 17ers either.

How about adding "CREDENTIALS" to the sixpack lexicon, since it's obvious that Todd has them and is a guru. I don't have a problem per Se with Todd, other than he is captain obvious and probably pays for most of the info that get regurgitated here. Rock on Todd.

Threw out some fast runners, got steamrolled by big boys trying to come home. Back of the head whacked by batters. Learned to wear a protectve cup early after getting racked.Caught for a guy who went on to pitch for South Alabama, and AAA Baltimore Orioles.

Spent 2 years in Dudy Noble outfield (image on 1988 poster) . My Ex wife was in love with Rex Buckner.

Dove in Waste Barrells (55 gallon drums) to retrieve Aluminum Cans in outfield. Sold them at Lakeside Recycling (Old Drive-In porn) for beer money.

Not sure if those "credentials" count, though.

I love Mississippi State Baseball.

It's a 17ing message board, not the dang Wall Street Journal. Geez, people... if Todd wants to post his damn opinion on a baseball post, he has every right to post. If you choose to respect his damn opinion, then great, if not, SKIP OVER IT!!!!!! Or, better yet, type your own opinion in a dang civilized manner, not by screaming like a dang teenager because he has an opinion on baseball. That is why this board exists... to post opinions, whether they are good or bad. <div>
</div><div>For your reading pleasure, I present Rule 7:</div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(102, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica, Verdana, Arial; font-size: 12px; ">7. need to lay off Todd. And to the ***** that complainedabout him explaining his credentials...if people would quit asking, he would quit telling you damn moron. Todd obviously knows what he's talking about, he follows the team more closely than 99% of the people on here, and he tries to stay positive 99% of the time. If he wants to get pissed every once in a while and goon a rant, I figure that's his own business. At least he offers somethinguseful to a conversation most of the time. I can't remember ANY time either of you idiots offered anything useful.I guess Goat's excuse is that he's trying to figure out what his next username will be after he gets banned aGAIN.

You really don't have to explain your credentials to these people over and over. If they don't like what you have to say, they need to read it and scroll on. Anyone that has read this board over the years knows you are legit. Everyone may not agree with you all the time on everything but your background and passion for the game is respectable enough in my book. Now on to the subject at hand. I agree fully on your take and your rant. The minute I feel good about this team, we take 2 steps back and start making new mistakes. I clearly jumped the gun and thought we had turned a corner but it's become obvious that the only corner we turned is we aren't getting killed anymore. We are however, still losing and losing in the stupidest of fashions. Our offensive production is horrific and like you said, what should we expect out of a Juco laced lineup? I like Cohen. I want us to win under him and I like what he stands for but the small ball approach and his constant praising of Ogden (best shortstop in the SEC?) is getting more than questionable. Don't even get me started on Ryan Collins. The fact that he plays tells me all I need to know about the talent pool on this team. It bothers me to no end that this guy plays but sadly, it's not just him. There's a time and there's a place for small ball but in college baseball, unless you've got top notch starting pitching that's only going to allow 3 runs or less a game, it's pretty pointless. We don't have that kind of pitching to do thatand really, no one else does. College baseball will always be an offensive game. Smaller parks, collegiate fielders (not professionals), and pitchers still finding their craft, will all make it an offensive game despite whatever bats they decide to use. I wish we'd get the memo on that and quit relying on the walk or hit by pitch as our main offensive strategy.</p>
