I feel that a lot of people are taking TSUN too lightly, and they are going to come out ready to play. A lot of you have gotten pretty comfortable sitting in the throne for the last 3 seasons, and rightfully so, but do not underestimate the black bears. They are a team hungry for a win; hungry to end all the jokes on their behalf; hungry to go to a bowl.

We are the only thing standing between them and postseason play, and if you think they are going to lay down and take it like they have the last couple years, you are sadly mistaken.

They have a new coach with a new (exciting) spread offensive philosophy and he has energized that program more than anyone thought could happen before the beginning of the season - more than I thought anyway. They have bought in whole-heartedly to Freezus and have nothing to lose in this game.
They have everything to gain.
It is in the Vaught-Hemingway "Den" and that coach NEEDS this win to get his tenure off the ground.

This is a new team they have, not the one we've faced the last 3 seasons. Remember that. This team has won 5 games, they are one away from success. Don't let them have it. Step on their necks and finish the job - looking at you seniors.

Now don't get me wrong, I am confident in our coaching staff, but I just hope that they do not let this one slip through the cracks. It is the last game of the season against our rival team that we have a countdown clock for. It shouldn't be that big of a problem.

I hope that I'm completely wrong and we blow them out of the forest, but if we do win it sure won't be a cakewalk.

Sincerely,
A reality check

Carry on

Nowadays, if you take a Division 1-AA school lightly, they'll bite you in the ***. Jacksonville State played Florida tight. South Carolina was tied with Wofford until the fourth quarter. Dan Mullen takes playing small-time Mississippi schools VERY seriously. We've averaged nearly 50 points a game against the likes of Jackson State, Alcorn, and the university of ole miss.

You're right. You have to take those teams seriously nowadays. We sound like they did in Mullen's first year, and they could end up bowl bound if this year's game turns out the same way that one did.

ETA: Obviously the positions of each team have been inverted. So you know what I mean, before anyone says "I hope it turns out the same way. We whooped dat ***!"

I don't think the majority of the fan base is taking them lightly...

Its a 50-50 game at best for us right now and Vegas agrees. The first half will be the key, if we can hang for the first half and the Bears don't jump out on us big right to start with I'll feel pretty good. In fact if we are even or down by less than one score at half I'll feel fairly confident about pulling out the win but I could definitely see us getting punched in the mouth early and if we get behind big early then their emotion might be able to carry them to the finish line for the win even with their depth problems.

What message board have you been reading? This message board has never hyped up Ole Miss more than this year. Since about game 3, there is an almost weekly thread about how much improved they are, and how hard they play, and how Freeze has them going in the right direction.

I agree that we don't need to take this game lightly, but I also don't know anyone who is taking it lightly.

Really?? Why even spend time posting stupid crap...or even thinking about it. It's the Egg Bowl. Both teams and their respective coaches want a win. Why would anyone take TSUN lightly?

We are a better team.........................

We have more depth, more talent, more size, more experience coach, more experience players and as long as we bring our A game I don't care how ready they are to play we will win. So the question to me isn't how ready to play they are, it's how ready to play we are and with all the smack from Dan I think out of out 12 games our coaching staff has had this one circle and will have our guys ready to play.
