If not MSU, where would you have attended college?

LSU. They were one of the hats at my hat ceremony. I put up a "W" hat so their fans would stop hounding me to go there.

LSU. Got an invite from their College of Veterinary Medicine for an interview, at least. Thankfully plan A worked out ok.

Southwest Texas. Party time.

I actually sent my SAT scores to Community College of the Cayman Islands. Never heard anything from them...

Princeton

I was born while my parents were students at State, and i have been a died in the wool Maroon Bulldog since birth. Nevertheless, my mother always wanted me to go to Princeton because it is one of the best undergraduate universities in the world and because her paternal grandfather went there---and she admired that man greatly.

At her request I applied to Princeton, and after I was accepted she told me it would break her heart if I did not go there. My Dad and I finally convinced her that because I planned to major in Chemistry I would get a comparably good education at State for a lot less money. She has never mentioned it to me since. Now I want my son to go to Princeton!

Auburn or South Alabama

Wanted to be a meteorologist, but grew up a die hard Auburn fan. Was either going to go to South Alabama and do meteorology or go to Auburn and figure something else out since they didn't have a meteorology program.

Did some online research one day looking for other meteorology programs and found info on MSU. Fell in love and never looked back.

Georgia Tech. Had a full academic scholarship but needed to stay closer to home for personal reasons. I come from a Bear family wuth older Bear graduates but figured out early in high school that I was really a Bulldog.

Purdue or TSUN.

Almost transferred out to Indiana State after sophomore year...Staying at MSU ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made! Purdue probably would have been ok though.

Probably Southern Miss. Just 30 miles down the road. The kids in my family are split 50-50. 2 went to MSU and 2 went to USM.

Made one application and received one acceptance letter. Never thought of anywhere else. Shows how old I am. Never got one letter or piece of mail from any other institution. Weird, now that I think about it. Very different from today.

Rhodes. Would've played football. Didn't have a foreign language so they wouldn't let me in....

I, too, made only one application--though by my time colleges were sending out a ton of mail (all swag-can-less, alas). I gave about two minutes consideration to MC and about 90 seconds to the Air Force Academy.

UNC. Lifelong fan and the school of my father

But I decided to go out of state just to try something different. That and the scholarship helped. But I thought I was going to Carolina from the time I was three, didn't pick OM until near the end. Had to convince my parents.

LSU or Auburn...

Went to State because of instate scholly and staff discount. I would have had to pay out of state at either LSU or Auburn.

Neat thing is I was offered a free ride for graduate school to LSU, along with UMass and Penn State. I'm really glad I didn't go to Penn State now.

If I had to do it all over again I would have gone to USM. I was older and married. My wife worked in Madison and I lived in Starkville during the week. I should have set my classes up for Tuesday and Thursday and traveled back and forth to Hattiesburg twice a week. I could have saved money and worked part time in Jackson somewhere.

Ferris State up in Michigan.

It was between them and MSU for the PGM program. During the winter of my HS senior year, I visited a HS buddy who was already at Ferris. 17 it was cold and gloomy. Just a depressing place to be in the winter, and ive lived in the upper midwest my whole life.

Once Spring Break visit to MSU was all it took. That, and their incentive of instate tuition based on ACT score.

- Ida been a Bulldog either way.

There was really never another option.

I caught up with a childhood friend while I was at State, and he told me about how I insisted that he go to State when we were in elementary school. I don't recall that, but I could have possibly saved his life.
