If nothing else because I know he would kick someone's ***.

I know he's washed up, but still.

DynamicDawg says that poor ol MSU can't do any better than Robert Kirby. That's right, the guy that couldn't get the Grambling job.

I'd take either one of those guys as well.

Or maybe Bill Self or Rick Pitino. They seem to do ok too.

or even Phil Jackson. They better be able to keep an 80% or "it will be time again Mr. Byrne"

I see what you are doing. Naming coaches who we can't hire as a joke! GENIUS!

Since you obviously think the topic of WHO is not worth commenting on, answer me this....can you address the WHEN? At what point does this speculation of names become relevant? Do we replace him if we are not in the NCAAs next year? If not, then after the next year? If not then, when?

I know some people would be OK with doing it now. I am not one of those. I am just curious since you two are two of the more ardent supporters of Rick.

I want to see an official answer from everyone who wants to respond. It deserves its own discussion.

we are the best basketball school in the Nation. We should be able to get any coach we want with one phone call. Afterall, someone told me we should have only lost 5 games this year (max). Stop thinking we're poor ol little MState, we should and can do MUCH better than Stans. Roy Williams, Bill Self or Jim Boeheim or BUST!!!!!

regardless if we don't make the NCAA's next year, unless we tank and have a losing recording or something like that. If we win 19 or 20 games next season and get left out of the Tourney, HELL NO we shouldn't can him. That will be 2 years in a row without making the Dance. I know it's 4 out of 5, but like I've said, as much success as Stans has had here, he deserves the one extra year to get back to where we want to be.

Cohen may run some of the old-timers away with his language. If you want to run some out of the lower level of the hump Knight may be the man for the job.

Tubby Smith
Brady
Gottfried
Pelphrey
Gillespie- he may be available after next season
Butch Pierre

That's a terrible list. Sadly, Of the guys you listed, I MIGHT say Pierre and Tubby are the only two acceptable ones, and by acceptable I mean worthy of being involved in our search. The others shouldn't even be contacted.

I can't think of anyone.

Perhaps an assistant for Memphis, UCONN, or another power, but no names really jump out.

I'd really like to see if Stans really does suck or just "were young" this year.

I wasn't remotely serious with that, damn. But I have read on here in the past that all but Pierre, at least I don't remember, are better than Stans. With that said I thought it would be a relatively absurd list.

Where is Pierre right now anyway? I thought he recruited well and did an admirable job when he stepped in for Brady.

All the names mean dudely squat. There is no way we get Roy Williams, Donovan, Self, Calipari, Tubby, or any of those and the secondary list is not as good as Rick. Thus, If I were AD, we'd wait until next year and see where we are. Personally, I don't think we can get any better. The guy loves MSU and has done an admirable job. The distractors haven't coached one div.1A game and yet they are experts and every time we lose a game, this same bs starts. It was simple to see why we lost last night, bad turnovers, missing 3's in the first half, and terrible rebounding, and that was when Osby, Augustus, and Brian Johnson were in the game too. Turner actually rebounds better than any of those. We have fans who ***** about everything, want to run Barry off, wanted to run Jamont off last year, and yet they have no solution whatsoever. This team will be much better next year simply because of experience and it takes that to win close games. We will beat Auburn and then the next two will be interesting but we are much like the rest of the league other than LSU, we win some at home and struggle on the road. Actually, we have done pretty good on the road but the two conference losses at home is what has killed us. I watched the entire game again last night and the turnovers which resulted in TN run outs and the 3 or 4 2nd half offensive rebounds by Tn is what beat us.

OK, my bad. I thought you were serious. I don't know where Pierre is now, but I was impressed with how he finished the season. He came in under difficult circumstances and had the team playing well by the end of the season. He obviously wouldn't be my first choice if I was hiring a coach, but I don't think he would be a terrible choice.

Stansbury deserves a little more rope than most.

There, are you happy D@A? The reason I responded sarcastically is because of the dipshits on here who act like the world has ended every time we lose a basketball game. It's mind-boggling.

I'm happy we managed to squeeze the 17,385th post from you (not counting other unknown user names you may have).I was worried you wouldn't reply. I agree there is some overreaction to each loss this mediocre team has, but what is truly mind-bottling is your post count.

at Anthony Grant at VCU or Sean Miller from Xavier?

Those two names kept coming up on google.

Grant is in his third year at VCU so he has a good bit of his players in there now, but he does still have Eric Maynor. They only have 3-4 upperclassmen on the roster also. I haven't really heard or noticed how they are doing this year, but I think Grant is a solid coach. If we could get him or Sean Miller from Xavier that would be a great pick I think, but its debateable they would make that move, especially Miller.
