RC Johnson is a desperate man at this point. This really could be a last ditch effort for him to make a statement to the Big East that Memphis is "serious" about football by hiring a coach that has a known name.

I hope it happens - the Memphis fans I know all hate the possibility. One of them told me, "If Nutt can't beat Jacksonville State and La Tech with SEC talent, why should I think he can do any better with CUSA talent?". I guess Memphis football fans aren't as dumb as I thought they were. Too bad for them that their AD isn't....
