Alabama - Germany. A solid methodical power.
Arkansas - Portugal. Always with potential
Auburn - Argentina. Won two dodgy titles.
Florida - Italy. Azzurri.
Georgia - Netherlands
Kentucky - Australia
LSU - Brazil
Mississippi - England. They wear red and blue and haven't been relevant since the 1960s.
Mississippi State - United States. Only been relevant once, then World War II happened.
Missouri - Mexico.
South Carolina - Ghana.
Tennessee - France.
Texas A&M - Spain.
Vanderbilt - Belgium. Not much of a history but trendy to follow lately.

I will give it a go. Only the West for now

Alabama- Brazil, Traditional powerhouse playing at home they will surely gets some calls from the refs (surprising I know)

Auburn- Argentina, Has had some success on the big stage, but ultimately are trying always live up to big brother, Brazil

Arkansas- Ghana, Strictly from a US perspective have always been the Achilles Heel to the USA. Everytime you think the US is going to do something great 17ing Ghana comes along and ruins everything. Even when the US seems to be superior.

Ole Miss- Mexico, Think they are relevant on the international stage, but they really aren't and never have been. Fans are traditionally known to yell homophobic slurs at opposing teams players

MSU- USA, scrappy and getting better each competition. New coach has been building the team up for years and are getting closer to making a big run in the near future

A & M- Portugal, Just because you have one fantastic player does not make you a traditional power, once Ronaldo is gone they should slip back into their rightful spot of mediocrity

LSU- Germany, Downhill in your face attack, and the two fan bases probably rival each other in alcohol consumption

Too bad Scotland's not in it this year.
Because State would be Scotland. Bitter rival of England (who would say "nice try, hicks, but Germany's our real rival"), but a decent percentage of the world thinks they're the same place.

And Australia/Kentucky works well: Just wait until rugby/basketball season starts! We'll see who's laughing then!

I know. Scotland would have been perfect and if they were in it, MSU would have been Scotland.

Edit to add: That's exactly why I made the Kentucky - Australia comparison.

Very good. I love the A&M - Portugal connection so kudos for that. And Olé Miss as Mexico makes a lot of sense but I couldn't resist the comparison with England.

I considered swapping LSU and Alabama but couldn't help but think that the LSU pimp fans would feel more at home in Brazil than in Germany.

you nailed state and om...for sure.

main one i dont agree with is arkansas. arkansas is chile. best world cup finish was 3rd = bcs loss for arkansas and finishing behind lsu and bama.

plus bert is fat and would eat the **** out of a bowl of chile.

That Mississippi State- USA comparison is looking better and better. Professionals at dropping their candy in the mud, both of them.

I just wonder when will Dawgstudent update his sig so that the two most frustrating teams that he's a fan of are Mississippi State and the USMNT?
