I hope they bricked the supports for the scoreboard as well.

Why would we be spending money to spruce up the existing stadium if we haven't decided if we are going to keep it or start over? No use putting lipstick on the current facility if we aren't going to keep it. Almost makes me wonder if they are going more in the direction of renovating the existing stadium.

We are still several years away from this happening. It's not like it's a major renovation in the grand scheme of things, just some money spent on aesthetics. They buy new outfield padding every other year and that stuff is more expensive than you'd think.

I think that padding is actually donated from some of the Tupelo guys, but I could be wrong. Your point stand though, we throw money for minor upkeep here and there at all facilities. Which is basically what the adding brick is - upkeep.

You're looking a little too deep into this. Throwing up some bricks behind home plate is just typical upkeep work that goes on each offseason and is not indicative of any long-term solution.

We are trying to make it as pretty as possible for the forthcoming SECNetwork -- and our almost assured increase in national visibility this year overall. Wouldn't have any connection to longterm plans I wouldn't think...
