If this had happened at LSU, would it be as big a deal.

Yes apples to oranges, but would their fans just get the oh they're being cajuns routine or the that's just what it's like playing on MSU?

Flame Away.

You know it's expected to happen there and the media and fans of other schools just think, thats LSU, so what? But anything out of the ordinary happens at little Miss State, the "mudhole" of the SEC, then it's big news. The media gets to attack and cut us down even more. We surely can't condone any throwing of any objects but, this has gone totally overboard. It's like when the cool kid in school farts, everyone laughs and thinks it's cool. But, when the other kid farts, he's a goober and no one can believe he just did that. No respect!! Just sayin!

if it hadn't been a nationally televised ESPN game against Kentucky.

1. It was the marquee game featuring the #2 team in the country on ESPN in primetime. The ugliness at the end was basically pre-empting SportsCenter. People were most definitely watching.
2. The whole Pitt-WVU crap from a few weeks back.
3. The whole call/texting fiasco.
4. It features a big name school (UK)
5. It involves a total media darling coach from the SEC (Bruce Pearl being the other one) in ESPN's eyes. How many times have you seen ANY SEC hoops coach other than those two doing a segment on one of their shows.
6. This might be minor, but they have time to fill. They literally can not show any actual highlights from the Olympics, and still photos of someone skiing/figure skating loses something in translation. Now a slow mo shot of a cup missing a ref, well, that's just good TV, baby!

If LSU did it, it would be because their fans were just being "passionate". Great fans, those guys.

That's the explanation. If the game had not been featuredon ESPN then the bad behavior of a fewwould be of littleconsequence. It's not because Mississippi State is being picked on.

LSU is known for bottles in football and those incidents usually aren't front in center with national TV cameras.

Does this happen at Pete Marovich Center? Don't think so. At least not on ESPN.
