Absolutely not

Thought a signature win was against a good team? When we win Turkey Night, they will only be one win better than us.

Ole Miss would be the best team Mullen has beaten.

Maybe his first year Egg Bowl win is a bigger win.

If our signature win isn't against a ranked opponent....

we're neck deep is doo-doo instead of just knee deep.

You mean the next one? I'm sorry but skulldragging Michigan was the first one. No one gave MSU much of a shot and they got manhandled. We they down? Yes. But it was the first bowl game on that level since the 90's and it was still vs a good and talented Michigan team. It SHOULD have been a program changer.

No but it could be the turning point where our teams gets its swagger back. Beating Bucky after his win last year and all of the OM recruiting hype will do wonders for team moral. Unfortunately, that knife cuts both ways.

Not exactly...

Plenty of people picked us to win that game. In fact, I remember Holtz and company saying that MSU was going to punch Michigan in the mouth and show them how physical an SEC team was. This is just rewriting history...

In fact, just a sample of how popular State/Mullen were with the media back then: http://www.forwhomthecowbelltolls.c...he-espn-bowl-selection-show-gave-some-love-to

I guess I just have a different view of a signature win. I'm looking at it as a win that, like I pointed out, could be a program changer. A win that punches a big cocky fanbase in the mouth in a big game and makes the season ticket check easier to write.

If people would call beating UM a "signature win", then Mullen has had a few already.

+1

It's the little things like finally winning in AR. 4 straight bowls. Winning 4 of 5 EB. Winning last 3 games for a change.

No team that's bad enough to lose to MSU could ever count as a signature win!
