This 25% capacity type **** is one but example of the arbitrary-ness that pisses me off. If 25% capacity is good, would 12.5% capacity be twice as good? If not, why not? If 6 feet is good enough for social distancing, would extending it to 7 feet result in 17% fewer deaths? Don’t our betters want to save 17% more lives? Why are (eventually) gatherings of 10 acceptable, but 11 is “bad”?

Multiple “leaders” (governors, mayors, doctors, advisers, etc...) continuously throw out ******** numbers as if God Himself had carved them into granite tablets, and then change them on a whim, and it’s infuriating.

If we all just tie bandanas around our faces it apparently makes everything better, too.

Are churches only allowed to open at 25%? Seems like they would need to be among the last places to open back up if there was any actual science going on with these reopenings.

Speaking of 6ft...i heard a scientist on CBS say 6ft would be absolute minimum, and actually virus can spread extremely far, so 6ft isn't really going to save you. He then showed a computer generated graphic of someone coughing and this green corona gas spreading down an entire office hallway an branching off into rooms. It was hilarious.

Simple question for you Ed (for obvious reasons), do you support Beshear’s mask recommendations?
I’m fine with it because it’s just a recommendation. If it were law no I wouldn’t. I don’t think you should have to wear a seat belt. He could say I don’t recommend you walk in traffic and some would do it just to be dicks

Okay. Do you believe that wearing masks helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections (as well as other respiratory viruses) and, ultimately deaths from those infections?

I don’t know. Trump said no at first. Depends on you health.

No, it most definitely does NOT depend on your (i.e. the wearer’s) health. It is a medical fact that masks prevent the wearer from spreading their germs (via coughing, speaking, breathing, etc...) to others. It’s the reason surgeons wear them during surgery — or did you think surgeons wore them to prevent themselves from catching something from their patient?

So I’ll ask again, do you think masks help to prevent the spread of infectious respiratory viruses to others, yes or no? It’s a very simple question, Ed, even for you.

Asians have been wearing masks for many years anywhere they go. Jesse James wore a bandana as well.

It wasn't Trump, Obama, Hitler, Grant.....but you keep spinning.

Well since you don’t pay my salary I’m not sure I have to answer any of the questions you are trying to set me up on. Play your games with someone who cares. Almost time for our governor. Don’t miss it.

I’m not playing games. I’m simply trying to get a read on where you stand exactly. You espouse your opinions freely, but it doesn’t appear you put much, if any, real though behind them. C’mon Ed, don’t be a ***** — do you feel masks help to reduce the spread of COVID-19? (HINT: it’s akin to asking someone if they believe the Earth is round.)

It's well established that masks help prevent the spread of germs. It doesn't keep you from getting it, it keeps you from giving it to somebody else.

Why do Doctors wear them in surgeries?

I will be wearing one when I go to crowded spaces.

Do you know the definition of "mandate"?

I don't know if I support it or not. I personally don't think it's a big deal. But if somebody else gets their panties in a wad about it, I don't hold that against them.

But to question whether or not if it helps slow the spread is absurd. It slows the spread.

I'm sure you'll be there watching.

I'm not a trope for Don or Andy. Andy's been a joke through this. Every key government function he was responsible for in the response to this has been poor by his administration. Testing? Awful. Distribution of unemployment benefits? Awful. Communication with industry groups about re-opening? Awful. He didn't even coordinate with the Kentucky association of Manufacturers on his order to allow non-nonessential manufacturers to reopen.

KAM had to send a list of questions to the governor clarifying certain things. Part of his re-opening order to them might actually be forcing them to violate labor laws and several other regulations regarding break time etc...

Mandate, recommendation, advice, dictat, call it whatever you like. If you truly believe it slows the spread, why don’t you know if you support it? You’re in favor of saving lives aren’t you?

Because there is a line between cost and benefit.

If we all stop driving we won't have any more car wrecks.

More applicable to this, if we order everybody to stay at home, completely cease all societal activity except figuring out a way to eat we could completely stop the virus. We aren't doing that.

Forcing people to wear a mask would cut down on flu season.

There are lots of things we could do to slow the spread. We aren't doing all of them.

The governor is only recommending them. That's a good thing. That's all he is doing. Are you saying he's making a mistake by not rounding people up and jailing them if they dont' wear a mask?

This. Its about preventing people from spreading their germs. The masks are not there to prevent you from getting infected. Its amazing how ******* stupid so much of our population is, and yet, sadly, not surprising. Im tired of getting sideways looks at Kroger for not wearing a mask to buy groceries. Im not infected or sick, ergo, Im not going to walk around looking like a jackass. I could just as easily contract the virus by picking up an apple previously handled by someone. The arbitrariness of all these measures isnt doing anything, and im not going to change my habits because of fear mongering. If I were sick it would be different and then one has to responsible. Im not, ergo, I'll gladly take on the risk, and go on about my life.

Schools weren't completely shut because kids got sick. The danger is kids carrying it to relatives at home, especially if they live with grandparents or other vulnerable adults as evidence shows they tend to be carriers and not show symptoms. Also, you have school personnel who might be vulnerable or prone to contracting it, whether that be teachers, custodians, etc. If kids taught themselves, by all means reopen schools, but if you do then you are exposing every teacher and worker there to the virus (and their loved ones).

I hope we can get schools going again in the fall but the CDC's guidelines on that are ludicrous. Six feet between desks? That means every teacher could maybe fit 8 or 9 in their room.

He's good at talking at rallies and pretending. Governing takes actual thought and ability. He has neither of those abilities. He governs like a grade school kid on the playground.

dear god. Do you not think kids can spread the disease?
Not often or regularly. There have been many studies and contact tracing of children with limited to no infection passing. Has to do with viral load and this particular virus.

One study followed a kid who was corona and influenza positive...he passed flu to 19+ kids/teachers at school and Corona to 0 or 1 person (can’t recall). Posted it awhile back.

They can get it and likely can pass it. But the larger threat at schools is adults to adults and then adults to children, then virus dying out with the child.

Great point. You've inspired me. I'm going to start driving 100 mph on every road from now on. After all, I'm not a ****** driver so why should I look like a jackass driving the speed limit?
