Folks I'll keep this short. I'm a Kentucky native who moved to Sumner County, Tn about 15 years ago. It's a nice place, lots of good people.

I work in the restaurant industry and we just opened back. I've been back for 2 shifts and we are only running around 25 percent in the dining room with 4 servers and 1 bartender. To-go is still killing it, so our restaurant will survive.

We have to wear a mask, our customers are not, which is fine. In the last two days, I have literally seen 2 people walk in the door wearing a mask and that was only because they thought they had to.

Life looks like is starting to return to normal here in Sumner County. Traffic is heavy. People are out and about. More places will be open next week and hopefully we will be able to seat more people in our dining areas.

Nashville is toast however. I'm not sure it will recover. They are taking the Kentucky approach. I'm not sure if the Commonwealth will recover.

Don't live in fear. Take back your freedom.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and tyrants."--Thomas Jefferson, attorney, friend, and neighbor of my grandfather, James McGavock.

Great point. You've inspired me. I'm going to start driving 100 mph on every road from now on. After all, I'm not a ****** driver so why should I look like a jackass driving the speed limit?
You missed the point entirely, quite obviously, with that completely ungermane analogy. Youre creating the danger there. So....good luck with that.

The governor is only recommending them. That's a good thing. That's all he is doing.
Exactly — he’s only “recommending” them. It’s a half-measure so that he can say he’s “doing something,” when in reality all it does is provide political cover. If cases don’t go up, he can say his “plan” worked. If cases spike, he can blame the citizens for being stubborn and not listening to him.

Again, if it’s a good thing for COVID, it’s a good thing for the flu. And if it’s a good thing for both, then it shouldn’t be a “recommendation,” it should be a requirement — but Beshear doesn’t have the guts to do that. He’s posing and posturing for the cameras, as usual.

Interesting note from a business owner to the leaders of Nashville today. That proposed tax increase at this time is insane.

No, I understood your point perfectly. You are pissed because you are asked to be mildly inconvenienced for the sake of others. Sounds pretty selfish to me.

Have you tested negative for COVID-19? How do you know that you aren't an asymptomatic carrier?

Look, Beshear deserves plenty of criticism for his handling of testing and unemployment, but to get your panties in a bunch about a recommendation to wear a mask in public is silly IMO.

Wear one, don't wear one...I don't really care. But don't claim the mere suggestion is an attack on your personal freedom.

Requiring people to wear masks is an attack on your personal freedom. There’s no scientific basis for me to need to tie a tshirt around my face when I’m out in public.

It’s not really about the mask. It’s about arbitrary meaningless ******** restrictions these governors are using to send us into the next Great Depression.

I do understand your argument here. I don't agree, but I get it.

I just think that if this is our version of tyranny then we have it pretty good historically speaking.

Panties are bunched because the recommendation is without merit, and not one iota of evidence that anything other than a NASA space suit is beneficial. Yet we are advised to wrap a kleenex around our faces for that .00000000000001% chance a droplet finds its way thru as I sit 6 feet away from someone.

And yes...it definitely is an attack on my personal freedom.

I guess I don’t really enjoy the version of tyranny that comes with deeming certain people nonessential and taking away their livelihoods and implementing ******** symbolic restrictions that have no basis in science, regardless of how things have been historically.

if there was tyranny you'd be dead for speaking out right now. someone asking you to wear a mask in public to protect others in case you are infected is not tryanny.

You called it “our version of tyranny” which is what I was responding to.

You think I’m against governments forcing your to wear a mask in public, but support them imprisoning you for growing or smoking a naturally occurring plant?
Good. I was just seeing if you were consistent.

And the government isn't forcing anyone to wear a mask. I haven't heard of anyone being arrested or cited for not having one on. I will personally wear one if I'm in a crowded hardware or grocery store out of courtesy to my fellow citizens, but when I play golf this afternoon or run through the drive thru at Chik Fil A, I won't wear one. I don't anticipate that anyone will say a word to me about it. It's a suggestion, and I don't see what the big deal is.

Again, it’s not about the mask. If you’re going to sit here and defend completely arbitrary meaningless restrictions on people’s ability to go outside, what else are you going to defend?
Haven't been on here in awhile, but I see that you have gone completely crazy.

I’ve been out and about today. Probably 20% of people I’ve seen are is masks. Walmart is as busy as I’ve ever seen it when I drove by. McDonalds was jam packed 10 minutes ago when I drove by. Home Depot has a long line.

Meanwhile small businesses are getting crushed, and there’s no telling when I’ll be able to eat a meal at an independent restaurant, or if any will even exist when the governors decide to end the arbitrary shutdowns.

You should probably reevaluate who’s the crazy one if you’re supporting this ****.

Real question - is it more dangerous for everything to be closed than open? We have select stores opened and they are jam packed. People want to get out, so they just hit up the open stores for ***** and gigs...are we consolidating the crowds instead of promoting spacing due to idiotic power grabs? I guess this is rhetorical bc it’s obvious what’s happening.

Hell, California blocked off the beaches so people protested in tight crowds instead of enjoying the open spaces...smh

Rolling into summer - open as much stuff up as possible, especially outdoor spaces. People are going to be getting out - the more options they have the more naturally social distanced they can be. Narrowing options is counter to the whole goal of the gov.

I just want to know when the social distancing ends. We going to try and stay six feet away from every human other than your family until a vaccine is created? At some point people just want things to get back to normal and decide for themselves if they want to chance getting a virus or not.

This isn't our first virus and it won't be our last. I just hope governments and society as a whole learn from this when the next virus hits. We can't shut down the world indefinitely. It's not sustainable.

This will be our last virus if we vote Democrat this November, and do what you’re told. If you get out of line, covid-20 will put you right back on lockdown. Obey, or else.

I hope Trump wins just so I can see Andy’s reaction. Guarantee he orders flags at half mast and some special porch light color to signify that we will get through this. We will get through this together.
