if you didn't enjoy that soccer match, you're a terrorist.

even the most ignorant people on this board should now love soccer after watching that match. One of the best soccer matches I've ever seen.

it's got to be the most boring **** in the world to watch...although I do understand why they get so excited when someone finally scores to stop the boredom for 5 seconds

I seriously think it would be more exciting to have a lawn mower fixing competition between the countries

Hell has in fact, frozen over because I actually agree with Coach34. How in the hell can the final three minutes make up for the dreadful 87 minutes of dudes running up and down the field? Glad the USA won and all, but that game only solidified my "it sucks" view of soccer.

they spend more time standing around, spitting, scratching, and not to mention warming up every inning, than in any other sport and soccer is supposedly boring.

This game was pretty exciting WHEN WE SCORED. The rest, eh, not so much.

And two, this is the Super Bowl of soccer I'd assume. It was OK to watch the highlights, but I'm in no way a fan of soccer watching right now.

If a baseball game is three hours, the ball is in play about twenty minutes.

And in a 3 1/2 hour football, the ball is only in play about 12 minutes.

if you don't understand the intricacies of the game such as how you should defend or attack, it's pretty boring. In any sport, there is always a game within the game. That's the reason I hate watching golf and baseball. I don't play either and I don't understand strategy in either.

I know I have told this story on here before.....but it is worth repeating today.

I took a European to a State football game once....vs UK 97 I believe. He had never been to an American football game. I thought he would love it. So, I ask him for his impression post game.......he said, all they do is run around for a few seconds, fall down, and stand there another minute. That had never crossed my mind in all my years but it was an interesting perspective.

A lot of people would disagree but out of the other 3, I'd rather play Serbia. Especially if a few of their players can get their 2nd yellow vs Australia. I'd expect that our most likely opponent right now is Serbia but obviously we'll find out soon enough.

Plenty happened throughout the course of the game. The US has a bunch of scoring chances that made you hold your breath. Algeria had some too.

And, of course, we had to beat FIFA to win the game as well. It's pretty similar to MSU fighting SEC officiating to pull off a conference win....

I would still rather watch a good football game but The World Cup is all about national pride more than soccer.
