Orgeron had to rely on high school coaches for a lot of position coach spots to try to gain a recruiting edge. Kiffin was able to target actual college assistants who were ace recruiters. The strategy of hires is basically the same, but due to the money at his disposal, Kiffin has been able to bring in better assistants.
The approach is still the same though, so while I don't see Kiffin going 10-25, I do see him struggling to do better than .500 overall, and I see him getting canned within 5 years.
