but more telling to me about the "writer" in question was Jmoss' (HS coach in MS) post on Yancy.

What he didn't say is that kids sign two LOIs all the time when grades may be at issue. Supposedly OM had several do that.

As wooly or as wrong as Gene, Rosebowl and co. may be at times, they always try to maintain some decorum of professionalism in what they write and say. NONE of that can be said for the Ole Miss trio you mentioned. They were probably at their worst during the Sherrill days but are still bad and will probably go downhill from here if they start really feeling Mullen is a threat. The childish level they write with reminds me as if you just pulled a random rabid obnoxious Ole Miss fan out of the stands to do their writing.

Ya'll did the same thing when Johnny Brown signed with both us and a juco. It's not embarrassing the kid covered his ***. He has a place to play ball next year no matter what happens. We did sign 38 players yesterday, kind of hard to be "upset" because he chose not to accept a greyshirt to OM.

No one is saying double signing is bad. It was just obvious what the intent was---too embarrass Skinner, namely b/c he spurned OM.

please provide the link where anyone associated with State's Scout page posted, in essence,.. "Johnny Brown is signing with OM, but it's ok because he's going to double sign with his juco too."

Please try to follow the conversation a little more closely.

all of the services place limits on the number of signees who are "counted" for purposes of deriving the Recruiting MNC. Generally only the top 20 or 25 out of a class are considered.

Just keeping it real.

I don't like Gene & Co., but I have never seen them pull stunts like Yancy & Co. And in case you missed it, Yancy's name is **** with HS coaches throughout the state because of his lack of professionalism. Yancy had no right to be commenting on one of our signees, much less trying to embarass him as a possible non-qualifier, especially when you guys signed 9 17ing players who double signed just to inflate your 17ing ranking. All you ******** who defend his **** can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

/Damn I hate Mississippi homers who think Mississippi can do no wrong, we pull the same **** they do, and no one would ever CHOOSE to sign with MSU over Mississippi if given the chance

Nobody, that I have ever met or heard speak publicly, that is associated with MSU in some official (or quasi ) capacity, has took it upon themselves to vilify OM in the manner in which Yancy and Roundsville have in the past. I have heard them say some very derogratory things about State coaches and players on Rebel Yell hotline as well. Hell, they were both associated with eggbowl.com.

I wasn't defending him, I don't care about him, I was speaking up for Skinner because what he did was a very smart thing. Oh by the way I love "Your and idiot" lmao. there's still a problem in that. Orgeron was the king in getting early committments from 4 star guys who had no chance of qualifying (Barksdale/ So. Panola and Davis/Tupelo come to mind) and then going through the recruiting season waiving around the Scout rankings to everyone else he was recruiting and saying "Come on board, we're kicking ***", etc.

What happened yesterday is no different other than it occured at the end of the season instead of the beginning.

You are correct in that Scout only rates the top 25 players signed. What OM is going to face in August is 13 players being taken off of their list.

I'm sure today any Reb will tell you that all 13 are the one's with the lowest stars and it will have no affect on the ranking.

Anyone with half a brain knows that isn't the case.

Make a mental note of today's rankings. Then check them out in August when Scout re-ranks them based on who actually made it to campus.

I hate to even call this guy a writer so I wont'. But I noticed and was shown by a good friend what the OM guy from Scout said about Deontae Skinner having to double sign yesterday (also with EMCC). FIrst of all, he is a MSU signee so what does he have to do with OM' class this year.
That is lowclass and I wish some parent would finally call him out and talk to him face to face. That is pathetic to try to embarrrass a kid when it only speaks volumes about the writer (if you can call him that).
Now, I wont call names because I am above that and find it stupid but just for the record, double-signing is very common place at all SEC schools. And just to note, OM had NINE kids doublesign yesterday.
Why not do feature stories on the OM kid that signed yesterday whose beat friends' girlfriend died in a motorcycle crash and then that OM signee used her credit card for months.
Sorry but that really got under my skin. And I dont see how Scout puts up with that scumbag,especially when Scout has some dang good writer and recruiting guys, like the one that covers MSU.

Paul Jones's reason in posting that was not to embarrass anyone. He didnt even name the signees. And he did it simply to illustrate how wrong Yancy was.

Now...back to the Johnny Brown thing. What was said?

Not pissed at all, I was originally intending to state Skinner did a very smart thing by double signing and then I get five responses telling me I am defending Yancy, and all that other bs. So I decided to do the same thing.

Only that brown double signed with Om and a Juco. The same thing yancy said of Skinner. The reason that it is relevant for Yancy to comment on him is because we actually were recruiting him. I don't know if it was/is ethical to comment on whether he double signed or not but it certainly was/is ethical for him to comment on him not signing with OM because we were in fact recruiting him. Paul made a comment on Hornsby that made the situation he was in sound worse than it actually was. Should that be considered ethical? Or just payback?

Not at all, he is plenty good enough for a full offer. The problem faced was we signed 38 players, what if he did qualify? What were we going to do? by offering a greyshirt we cover our bases if he qualifies and doesn't qualify. State on the other hand signed 27 including Skinner.

MANY sign with both as you agree...that is not the point of this discussion that keeps going over your head. It is that that douchebag intentionally mentioned signing with both and the greyshirt to slap him in the face. The guy is an absolute assclown and asshats like yourself and his equally gay followers are the reason that *** has a job. Gene is a douchbag no doubt...but you NEVER see the pettiness that the UM folks throw out daily from ANY of them...

whether you realize it or not. To try to deny that is laughable. But whatever. I don't see why any state fans get so worked up about what Ole Miss's Scout guy has to say when apparently the general consensus (on the sixpack at least) is that he is a giant douche with no credibility.

Jesus I could come here and say Mullen is a god, Byrnes is a ninja, Russell is a surefire all-american, so is Bumphis, Shumpert, Conner, Smith and everyone else on ya'lls team and somehow I'm defending yancy or making a backhanded comment at MSU.

Well I guess I didn't realize I was defending Yancy by saying Skinner made a smart move by double signing, so I guess you can just laugh away. It's not just the general consensus of the sixpack same as on Nafoom. Me personally ITG may have the most upside because Chase and Ty don't seem to be sunshine pumpers.
