Jamie Newberg just wrote his article on his talk with Kevin McReynolds and his visit to us this weekend. If someone has it, do they mind sharing some of what McReynolds said?

thatwhen you go to the address bar and find the "action=" and delete everything after it and hit enter, it would take you to the insider article. Not sure if it still works. <div>
</div><div>ETA: It doesn't.</div>

Four-star DT Kevin McReynolds' (Washington D.C./St. John's College) college decision just got a little more complicated because he was blown away with his trip to Mississippi State.
"That program is going in the right direction," McReynolds said. "It's amazing how coach [Dan] Mullen has turned it around. It's an atmosphere for success and I can definitely see myself there."

It's more than that for McReynolds and the Bulldogs. It's about their style, the league they play in and so much more.

"I have to say that the process has taken me places and I feel very blessed," McReynolds said. "I've been to UCLA and Syracuse, two great visits. Mississippi State was a great visit. To be honest it was an eye-opening visit. I can't believe the SEC and the way they do things. It's so intense and they are very successful at it.

"I also love how they get after it defensively. They attack and there is a good opportunity for me there."

It's funny how things work out. Not many kids from D.C. look at Mississippi State and conversely there are not many times the Bulldogs are recruiting that part of the country.

"They showed some interest in me and I showed it back. We started talking and built a relationship. I was kind of surprised about the Mississippi State visit and how it went. They are a player for me. They are up there. They are on par with UCLA and Syracuse."

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound Under Armour All-American will make his last official visit next weekend when he travels to Kansas State and will make his decision on signing day.

Scout says his core GPA is 2.9 and he got a 16 on the ACT. That should get him in.Is there another reason he would go JUCO?

It does matter 2 years down the line, which is when we would need him. Sign them now, you have a much better shot at signing them in 2 years.

That's assuming those numbers are accurate. Also, it's possible he is missing a core class or two.

To smootness, yes I guess it could help. But a lot can change in 2 + years.

I hope they are. Having McReynolds, Maiden, Jones, and Dixon in this class really solidifies the future of our DL. Solid group right there.
