So is it TUOTSUN now?

And someone should have told him to put more emphasis on MSU signing more in-state kids than USM and Ole Miss combined.

I don't think he said that enough.

on National Signing Day. Mullen could care less if there is a basketball game in Nashville tonight.

And yet you care enough about how we're doing to watch Dan Mullen's press conference. I don't know about other MSU fans but I bet they would be with me on this one: We would never watch a Houston Nutt press conference of any sort unless it was after a loss to MSU or him laying an egg and losing a game or throwing away a season when it was supposed to be Mississippi's year.

I haven't watched Nutt or Mullen's presser, but I can read well enough to see above that he mentioned OM.

press conference tells me all I need to know. I don't visit ANY OM boards, I read NO OM articles, and I don't watch OM press conferences.

Character is important. It's just not as important as talent. Croom put character before everything else and that's what pissed people off. Mullen just knows he has to mention it because its "semi" important to us young folks and real important to the blue hairs.

Yeah, Me and Ted Koppel used to get the biggest kick out of that while we were "entertaining" Katie Couric. Or as we liked to call here TCFCBS. (The Chick From CBS)

That's because Nutt isn't publicly attempting and failing tremendously at downgrading a currently superior team. We find humor in Mullen's attempt. It's cute, really...like watching an acne-faced, socially inept little brother trying to pick up girls and failing horribly. You don't keep an eye on the little guy because you're scared of his potential and he's threatening your weekly pull; you watch because it's outrageous and humorous.

If you look at NAFOOM, you'll find more talk of Arkansas and Hogville than State and SPS and even you - unbiased fan of The People's University - would laugh at the majority of the Hawgs' threads on that board because it's comedic gold in its purest form...not because you're scared or jealous of Petrino and the Razorbacks. Hogville.net. Seriously, go have a look.

Don't really care what you think about him. He seems pretty hellbent on signing more Ms. players than anyone else and maybe in his young life he has already figured out that there's more to Football than talent or skills. He wants their heart and theirmind focused on winning.</p>

That is exactly what Nutt did. He tried to publicly downgrade MSU with his comments about being one program in the state on the rise and then failed tremendously by getting stampeded in the Eggbowl.

I seem to remember while ESPN was showing highlights of us kicking your *** that they were using it in a derogatory manner towards you guys, not making fun of Mullen.

At first, I didn't like it at all. But the more Mullen says it, the more Rebel panties get wadded up. It really bugs the **** out of you guys. So now it's starting to grow on me.

Mullen has made it very clear what his goal is at MSU in both recruiting and everything else. This whole North business is just a part of that.

Nutt made one comment after being continually prodded about Mullen's comments, and it was an indirect comment at that. I'm honestly amazed he's avoided getting into it more than he has given how often he's asked about Mullen's comments and his nickname for us. At least twice today in his press conference, they tried to prod him into making a comment about MSU. Once they asked him about taking Giles from State, and he chose to respond by commending his staff for their efforts on the class and commending his players on the way they sell our program, no reference to MSU. They later asked him directly about the heated in-state battles with MSU. He responded by talking about what he tried to use to sell his program to recruits, the Cotton Bowls, and his goal of getting to Atlanta for the title game, no mention of MSU.

You can tell he makes an effort to avoid being baited into that kind of talk. He's a coachspeak machine. It's just two different approaches.

ETA: I will say that Nutt is by far the best at coachspeaking in fragments though.

Good win today. Guys played hard. Love to see that type of effort. Can't turn the ball over like that. Need to keep focused. One game at a time.

doesn't want to give Dan any bulletin board material because he saw what happened when he did, even though he has a "clearly superior" program. Which is by the way, a "superior program" that our rising seniors have beaten two out of the last three years.

And I can not believe that fans of a school that has Shepherd Smith promoting them ad nauseum are saying that Dan Mullen or anyone else is an embarassment. I mean, what's next? Richard Simmons?
