We had been taking the H21 HD receiver I had and everything worked like a champ.

Does anyone take a receiver with DVR? If so, do I need to get a dual coax to run from the dish to the receiver for it to workor will a single line into the Satellite In-1 port do.

If single wire lnb (SWM) one coax will provide signal for multiple channels and you could use both tuners. If your LNB has 4 coax you will need two coax to your DVR to use both tuners. One coax will work but only one tuner is available and it should be connected to Sat. In 1 port.

It sounds like he just wants to use one tuner for games and if they suck then he will switch over to pre-recorded shows off the internal drive. Doesn't sound like he will need to utilize the second tuner to record shows while in the Junction. I could be totally off...

how are you lining up the dish? Do you have a meter or doing it all by hand? We considered bringing a slimline dish and dvr but were concerned about getting it lined up easily.

not planning on recording while watching something elseat the tent. just needed to know if the receiver needed 2 lines connected to work properly. I'll probably get the dual line for it at some point, but from your assessment, it appears a single line will suffice.

3 years ago, we couldn't get the signal located. after the crew got a little sauced up, I passed the hat and got a Starkvegas DirecTV tech out there and he located the signal and hard mounted the dish on a concrete pad at a manhole. Last year, thethreads had eroded/got stripped.I made a template from the hole pattern and now have a wooden platform that Ilay on the pad with the corners aligned for each game and consistently get a strong signal strength.

The key to aiming the dish is the pole mount where the dish is attached has to be absolutely positively without a doubt level and plumb. If your off just a **** hair the Elevation: 49.1 & Azimuth: 201.4 #s don't mean a damn thing.
1. Level/Plumb pole
2. Set elevation using numbers on the dish.
3. Find aprox. 201 with a compass then tap the dish lightly east or west untill you get a strong signal on the 101 sat.
