a) would you just lay back and keep it like it is ...make stricklin make the choice

b) would you put your foot up some *** and get the respect back that, well I don't think I have ever seen a team fully respect him
...I know some years he had some natural leaders that just wouldn't allow it to get this bad, but this year is an exception

c) would you just throw your hands up with this bunch and retire, knowing that the writing is on the wall.

...I feel like after last night, Ricks tenure at Mississippi State has ended.

The teams that respected him and played hard were those who had natural leaders. He struggled early because of Tang, Robert Jackson, etc. Then with Bowers, Frazier, Zimmerman and "the transfers" known as Roberts and Power, we were very good. The next era was the Rhodes/Gordon/Stewart/Vanardo teams. As much as people loved to complain about Jamont, I don't ever recall anyone questioning his will to win or his effort. Once Rhodes caught on, he was great too. Randy and Swat were quiet leaders, but still leaders. Now, we have practically none of that. Maybe Bost, but he's so outnumbered by turds that it's hard to tell. Ravern, Kodi and Sidney just don't get it. They want all the adoration but none of the sacrifice, although I will say this for Kodi, he's dumb as a brick but his effort is 10000X better than what it was his first couple of years.

So while I wish it was B, B won't happen unless Hood, Deville, and Gardner are the hard working, no nonsense type players. Unless of course, he does what I have hoped for the last couple of years and git rid of at least two assistants and bring in some X/O and disciplinarians as assistants.

I would put my foot up Ravern *** for being lazy and for having a bad attitude that is infectious to the rest of the team. Then I'd put it up Dee and Kodi's *** for not being more vocal leaders and for not putting their foot up people's *** (Sidney) as the team leaders. Then I'd put it up Brian Bryant's *** for obviously forgetting how to do whatever made him a JUCO AA last season.

Stricklin has 2 options:

1. Fire The Recruiter and pass it off as a "retirement". After 20 years here, he gets that option. Hell, we should reassign him to recruiting coordinator for football. But thats another discussion.

2. Force The Recruiter to fire his assistants and let them coach and also allow to strength coach to work the team as he sees necessary. Bring in one as an X's and O's guy and he be allowed to implement an offense- be the OC so to speak. The 2nd hire needs to be the "enforcer". Somebody has got to come in and demand the respect of the players- and he has to be completely backed by The Recruiter or it wont work. Once we have that in place- the strength program needs to be overhauled and Stansbury has to stay out of it. Let Akins do what he gets paid to do- build strength and athleticism. Our team needs to find out what hard work really is.

Obviously, I prefer option 1- but if you are going to keep him- option 2 has to be implemented or it will just be more of the same ol same ol- and there is no reason to waste a season at this point letting The Recruiter just draw a check one more season

Either A - recruiter will quit if this is forced on him.

or

Either B - recruiter will go out swinging ala Ron Polk. I know Polk wasn't fired but he'll go down in the same fashion. Kicking, screaming, touting all the good he's done, calling all basketball cigar boys to back him. It will get real ugly and real fast.

Unlike the reclusive, socially inept, IBM Selectric wielding, unabomber of the college baseball world, Stans actually has a wife and a cadre of hellions who bring some sense of behavioral modification to any potential reaction Stans might have to being, um, "asked to find other employment" - or better - moved to an office job in the pork palace. Unlike the bushman of Dudy Noble, Stans actually has to look at family members and give an account for his behavior.

1. I kick Ravern off and give the minutes to Steele and Bryant because we need those two to get experience for next year.
2. I play Renardo 40 minutes a game or until he fouls outbecause that is obviously the only time he ever runs.
3. I fire all my assistants at the end of the year in hopes of saving my ***.
4. I ban tweeting and facebooking every season from here out.
5. Serve notice to the team that if anyone so much as farts in public then they are gone.
6. I use Beckham and Baily's scholarshipsnext year and go then go get some JUCO bruisers that love to rebound.
7. I make Renardo offer a public apology to the fans for his tweet.
8. I pray that Hood, Smith, and Gardner are as good as advertised next season.

agree this should have happened last year.

2. I play Renardo 40 minutes a game or until he fouls outbecause that is obviously the only time he ever runs.
this is simply not possible

3. I fire all my assistants at the end of the year in hopes of saving my ***.
this won't happen, he didn't do it last year

4. I ban tweeting and facebooking every season from here out.
yes! Phil Turner did they same thing last year, but he made people inbox him. just wasn't public so it went unnoticed

5. Serve notice to the team that if anyone so much as farts in public then they are gone.
won't happen ... you saw it, you handle it

6. I use Beckham and Baily's scholarshipsnext year and go then go get some JUCO bruisers that love to rebound.
7. I make Renardo offer a public apology to the fans for his tweet.

you make good points, but you have to know they will never happen ...
if those things happen, our program wouldn't be in the craptastic shape it is. We went the wrong way went the Delk twins walked out and it has gotten bigger and bigger every year, now we have no leaders except Bost

1. I'd tell my loud *** annoyingwife to take my 3 nerdy *** midget kids and keep them in the stands.

2. Quit clapping like a *****.

3. Go ballistic (Frank Martin style) on my team.

4. Run an actual offense.

5. Get rid of my POS assistants.

6. Win lots of games.

No need for number one. I get your point but no reason to insult the man's family.

Id probably decide that my kids shouldnt be standing in crucial timeout huddles for a SEC basketball program.

But what do I know.

at the end of the game as he's trying to congratulate our alleged coaches/Twitter followers, loose assemblage of AAU squadmen/twitter writers and palefaced APR boosters, he's surprised by this pint sized ankle biter who busts into the line like some hellion at walmart. I don't know whether it was Mephibosheth or Absolam.

I have bitched at length about Stansbury's shortcomings and will continue to do so, but leave his wife and children out of it.
Fine Southern Gentlemen like yourself have been taught to behave better. Try harder.

Call me crazy, but I think little things like that play a part in the players not respecting Stans. He isn't going to rip into someone on the sideline when the !%#*$$* kids and wife are sitting there.

There is nothing wrong with saying that Stansbury needs to keep his kids off the sideline. Calling them nerdy little ***** is bush league and no class. A poster being anonymous does not make him any less of an ******* for saying it.

It's a message board. Some of you women take this **** too seriously sometimes. I could care less that a few posters on this board think I'm an *******. Oh well.
