Embarrased? Why would young adults playing a sport embarrass anyone watching or rooting?
Is OP worried his boss will call him into the office and fire him for rooting for Rutgers? Will his spouse refuse to sleep with him because he has inherited this embarrassment?
You've always had to have heart to root for Rutgers, whether or not you earned a Rutgers degree. Certainly, we have all met fellow Rutgers alums who wanted nothing to do with Rutgers athletics.
If OP is embarrassed by his choice, he should root for someone else. Obviously, Rutgers is not providing him with something his ego desperately needs.
From Dr.John and Burnsie through the Shea hay no era to now I have been a Scarlet Knight fan through think or thin bad top worse with a fee good ones in between.
That's the life of a fan of a program that came late to the game and doesn't have enough respect to bring in the type of booster that can help the program catch up to the best , so it has trouble being one of the better of rest.
I'm not scared nor am I happy with the state the preogram seems to be right now, but Greg isn't the first HC to disappoint me and I feel he was the best choice both times he was hired, now Schiano might not be able to compete at the level we expect after turning the program into one that we started to have expectations of competitiveness after he replaced Ash .
It's a new sceane out there and even though Grreg was looking like he was turning RU into one that might compete with just about every B1G program , except for teams like PSU and OSU , his program has regressed like PSU has this year..
I believe next year should be a do it or get out for him.
But either way I'll remain a RU FB fan and never give up hope.
Bu the way I have a dog, maybe the OP should become a Georgia fan and give out dawgs to scared Bulldog fans .
As for a mess, yes it looks so, but in 2001 Schiano came in and cleaned up Shea's mess , then in 2019 gave us hope by making something out of the nothing Ash left.
So I don't have low expectations or standees that excuse losses, I just cling to the same hope I had during every coaches tenure since Burnsie fell short trying to make RU a winner playing big time football .
I expected Schiano to make Rutgers into a program we could brag about, that isn't the case this year , so he lost my support and to get that back has to prove by the end of next year he can bring Rutgers out of the losing wilderness or I'll say time to find someone who can .
But will remain supportive of the program , like akways, and not make panic attack messages that do nothing but depress .
I'm on this board because I care , the OP wants us to think he/she does, but reading between the lkines looks like a bandwagon fan that jumped off when the going got tough and looking for a a program that's winning to jump on theirs .
I suggest he/she find the Hoosier bandwagon and jump on that flavor of the day one.
