I'll go ahead and step out on a limb regarding baseball.

I think the bats even things up even the SEC this year more than anticipated. Teams will struggle to score at times and in a close game all it takes is one bad hop, one misplayed ball, one wild pitch.....

I'm gonna put us at 12-18 in the SEC and somewhere north of 30 overall.

It currently seems like MSU gets a bunt single an inning so far this year. Seems like the new bats helps teams that play small ball.

But it also helps that we are closing the gap as far as talent. We're not where we need to be to contend for the SEC title, but we're certainly on the right track. I feel like we will put a repectable product on the field at the very least.

Is a supposed bunting guru. I know he has done some siminars on bunting and the short game before. It also helps that we have a lot of team speed.

I'd have to say the best bunter ever was Rod Carew. They used to say that you could put a handkerchief down on the infield, and Carew could bunt the ball and land it right on top of the handkerchief.

I think we at least break even in SEC. I think John has got the guys hungry to prove somthing. With so many young guys, there will be some bumps in the road, but I just have a feeling we will see good things.

That makes it extremely unlikely to make Hoover or the NCAA Tournament. That's not really stepping out on a limb...

from having a team that could host a regional, have an above .500 record in the SEC, etc. In 2012 MSU will have a top tier SEC Friday night starter, as well as other experienced talented arms to give them a legit SEC rotation. Those guys could have a great year this year but besides Stratton, I expect some of them to get banged around a little bit once conference play comes around. I could very well see MSU go into conference play with only 2 to 4 losses. If that happens and everybody has confidence they could very well make a little noise this year. In 2012 they should have enough talent and experience both on the mound and in the field to be a real player in the SEC. I guess it will take him one more year than it did at Kentucky but he inherited a real mess and as others have said, the SEC is even more competitive now than it was when he was at UK.

This team has a much better chemistry and improved pitching over last year.

I know everyone thinks I am crazy for saying this but we are going to be a better hitting team this year too.

...I've got a little secret for you: When 75% of sixpackspeak.com is also predicting a 12-18 type season, you are not stepping out on a limb when you make that prediction.

You are just following the lemmings over the cliff.
