he wants him there for Spring practice to compete for the starting QB job....this came straight from their coaching staff

Coaches say all kinds of stuff during recruiting...but take that bit of info and do with it what you will

Is it so hard to ask for a serviceable QB every once in a while? Just one please. I hope Dak can do something, or Tyler Russell makes some improvements, because Relf is not going to get better next year. This is very frustrating to watch. </p>

but I'm not sure I want to see him in there as a true Freshman..he is like Russell but can run the ball better...Dak can run the option and do all the stuff we ask
he is a dual-threat QB

But I am still leary of playing a true Freshman...let Ralph and Russell get us to another bowl next year and then let Russell and Prescott battle it out

Year 3 it is time to play to win now. If Prescot is that QB then he should play. We should be competing for a bowl game so an extra win or two can be huge. This is not like improving from winning 3 to winning 5. If that is all it would get you then you look further down the road and redshirt. But that is not MSU's situation going into next year.

I think Ralph/Russell > Dak Prescott- true Freshman

Then Russell/Prescott should be very good for us in 2012

next year then he is not going to be any great shakes either. You earlier made the guy sound like a stud player. Well if he is then he should be able to beat both Relf & Russell out. If he is just a pretty good player then probably not. So which is he do you think? Clear it up for us because you seem to be saying both.

my belief is that starting a true Freshman QB in the SEC is stupid. I've watched Prescott play twice- and I am 100% sure he will be a good SEC QB...but I still dont want him starting for us as a Freshman...

***** about Ralph all you want- we are 7-3 with him as our QB...I'll take that...and next year's schedule is easier than this years

And yetsomeof the best seasons in modern MSU history were led by freshman QBs.

1980 - John Bond
1998 - Wayne Madkin
2007 - Wes Carroll

I hesitated to put Carroll in the list, but he did lead us to a bowl game that we even managed to win once he realized he was going to have to coach up Croom on what plays to call in the 4th quarter against UCF.

Or basically anyone with a good defense? Really? Because against anyone with a decent defense can shut us down. Now if your argument is a freshman Prescott would increase our chances of losing to a Vandy, Kentucky, UAB, UM then say so. But if that is the case I would not consider him to be a top prospect like you earlier said he was. You claimed Mullen wants him to compete for the job right away so he must be stupid like me.

Ralph gives our team the best chance to win the game

Coach34 says Ralph best chance to win- Dan Mullen starst Ralph every game

Idiot fans fans say Tyler Russell is better than Ralph- Tyler Russell still never starts

Who knows more than who obviously?
