I'll use this thread to create a running list of Miami Beach idiots [Update 4] ...

as I find out information from other boards:

As of 7/21/10 at 8:15 a.m.:

Pouncey Twins (UF)
Ahmad Black (UF)
Chris Rainey (UF)
Marcel Dareus (Bama) [update 7/20/10 1:05 p.m., Dareus is officially suspended]
Pat Peterson (LUS)

As of 7/21/10 at 9:25 a.m.:

Dre Kirkpatrick (Bama) - speculation that he had improper dealings with an agent, but not at this Miami party.

As of 7/21/10 at 10:25 a.m.:

The Dre Kirkpatrick rumor has legs. Could be significant as he was expected to contribute heavily in an untested secondary.

As of 7/21/10 at 11:40 a.m.:

UNC's Marvin Austin is rumored to be done, finished. His idiotic tweets from the scene of the Miami party and his later jet-setting to NY and other places are supposedly what raised the NCAA's suspicion.

I'm tired of hearing coaches say it's the agents fault. If your a college football player and you get invited to a party 1,000 miles away and you don't know who's throwing the party or it seems random...DON'T 17'N GO! If your on scholarship at a school in any sport you have 3 responsibilities: 1) Don't do drugs, 2) Go to practice, 3) Go to class. It's so simple. If you stick to that you'll be fine. Don't jeopardize your college career by doing something dumb or in question. You have a very simple to do list. Stick to it and you'll see amazing results either in pro sports or career wise. It's really easy.

For a lot of them though, it's more like this:
[list type=decimal]
[*]Get laid as much as I can.
[*]Get as much free stuff as I can.
[*]Party as much as I can.
[*]Work just hard enough to get me into the NFL.[/list]

who are not directly compensated for their services is easy. Really easy.

[Please save your comments about the value of scholarships. We all get that tired **** argument. These stupid, brainless non-student athletes who come from ******** backgrounds will never resist free *****, colt 45 and cash].

The problem with punishing the athletes is the NCAA takes 2 17ing years to investigate. By the time they figure out who to blame they are long gone. I don't fault the players for taking anything they can get their hands on. Hell most of them come from nothing and have all these jackasses tossing gifts at them.

That means you either put it on the coach, the school, or the agent. The coach may not be around any longer so that leaves the school or the agent. Do you really want to punish the school for something one moron did? I'm not in favor of schools taking the brunt of the punishment. They can't police these athletes 24/7.

I say Nick Saban has it right. Tell the NFL to 17 off. If the NFL wants access to these players on campus they need to step up and be a part of protecting them.

I think you will see the NFL scouts step up and put serious pressure on the league to do something about these ******** agents. It's the NFL scouts who are about to have their lives screwed.

The NFL is the only one who has the stick to put a stop to this ********. There's nothing the NCAA or the schools can do to stop it. And it's going to get a lot worse if they can't persuade the NFL to do something about it.

There are a lot of temptations out there for normal people like us, but we don't do them because 1) It could ruin our families, 2) It could jeopardize our jobs, 3) We could ruin relationships to people close to us, etc. etc. etc. There are temptations people face every day. Athletes and normal people and we all have to deal with it and the consequences. Athletes have it so incredibly easy. It's 100% their fault for screwing things up for themselves.

What are they screwing up in their lives? Worst case is they lose eligibility and enter the draft early. If they are good enough to have agents shower them with gifts I don't think they are going to be heartbroken by having to enter the draft early. They aren't breaking a criminal law here (well the IRS might have a chat with them) but it's not like they are facing jail time for accepting gifts from an agent.. What down side is there for an NFL bound athlete to accept 100000 from an agent?

your ****** decisions [before the age of 18] resulted in actual consequences. You probably had a Dad who whipped your *** when you acted the fool, so you eventually learned to self-regulate. You learned to evaluate consequences before you acted. These rudderless bastards have rarely faced any negative consequences for their behavior, so I guess it should come as no surprise when they knowingly transgress a simple rule when it means they get to go fulfill their base pleasures on some f'n jew's dime.

[Drew Rosenhaus is a jew, by the way].

How? He was still a first round pick and will be a millionaire. There will ALWAYS be an idiot owner like Jerry Jones. And he only got in so much trouble becuase he lied to the NCAA, it had nothing to do with what he did, they just don't want people getting the idea they can lie and get away with it.

Had Reggie Bush fessed up to his transgressions and paid the money back USC wouldn't be in the boat they are in now.
