Doubt that you really believe that, but I wish zealous Husker fans would learn to "turn it down" a notch. on the ridiculous posts. It's much better to be humble and quiet - so you don't have to eat so much crow when your prediction is proven to be goofy. Why not brag the opponent up instead of insulting them? We fans aren't playing the game anyway, and can't really control how the team plays or what the results are. Iowa is not my favorite team, but they deserve some respect for the year they've put together. If we beat them - fantastic! If not, then congratulations to Iowa for going 12-0. JMO

Im sticking to my guns, im taking the Huskers to win soundly, 37 to 17. Everyone thought i was crazy when i picked the Huskers to beat MSU and picked the score to be 40 to 37, Huskers. Look how i faired, pretty dam close. I dont give a rats *** about standings and all that when i pick a game, i look how the teams match up, there strengths on Defense and offense and all that. Face it, Iowas strengths on offense falls right into the Huskers strengths on defense and our offense more then nails Iowas weakness on defense, there DBs covering our WR, ad in Armstrong's scrambling ability and Huskers having a true power running game now with Cross and Jano.

I believe Armstrong is the Big 10s best dual threat QB. Yes Tommy is better then Iowas QB, even when hes making some mistakes.

Just stop already. We're not going to blow out Iowa. We will be fortunate to win this game, because Iowa doesn't make many mistakes...and we do. Tommy will have to play a nearly flawless game to win.

Did you also predict the other results of Nebraska's season? It's great you were able to correctly predict the score of the huge MSU win but tell us about your other season predictions... guessing you are sub .500 on predictions.

Regarding the comment on Armstrong vs. CJB- I really think Tommy is a talented quarterback but he consistently makes mistakes for your team. He has 7 turnovers through the air in his last three games... personally, I'm going to take the guy who limits mistakes and puts his team in position to win. When good Tommy shows up, he is certainly one of the top Quarterbacks in the conference because he has big play ability and can also beat you with his feet. I actually think CJB and Tommy are very similar in this regard.

It should be a really good quarterback match-up and a battle in the trenches.

Lastly, I really don't see a blow-out in the cards for either program on Friday. Nothing to date would lead me to believe otherwise outside of pure homerism from both fan bases. Each team is capable of putting up big numbers and each team is capable of giving up big numbers.

It's going to come down to who can limit the mistakes and who can limit the big plays (just like every other college football game). Nebraska got big plays on Iowa last year which has been a strength of the Hawks in 2015. We also are one of the best teams in the country from a TO margin perspective.

With that being said, I'm predicting an extremely tight game. I think Nebraska is more than capable of pulling off the victory as you guys have better talent overall and are starting to play well.

Wishing you guys a good game.

I think Huskers win a close game, something like 28-24. You could switch the score in favor of iowa too. Only way this is a blow out is if one teams special teams plays like garbage and the others play lights out.

Iowa hasn't played anyone close to Nebraska. Iowa loses to...
BYU- Healthy QB beats Iowa convincingly.
Miami- Talented headcase of a team out athletes the Hawkeyes.
Michigan State- Iowa's gonna get smoked by Sparty.
Simply put Iowa's schedule hasn't prepared them for the Huskers.
How convienent that you left out the four other teams. You know, the ones Nebraska lost and Iowa won?!?!?

Win or lose I will be glad when this week is over. I have never read so much BS in my life from both sides.
How many my dad can kick your dad`s *** posts do we need?

Here it is. Iowa is undefeated. But these teams that they have beaten are the same teams that we didn't give the desired effort against. And still we could of won most if not all them games if we played with the same desire as we did against Michigan State. The same team that laid a complete egg against Purdue came back one week later and beat a potential playoff team. The main difference is players looked in the mirror and decided to take accountability. We are the healthiest we've been all year and the defense is finally playing with confidence. I thought we would beat Michigan State if the team came together and played for themselves and Riley. It's all about personal responsibility and we look to have found that critical missing piece.

And thats my point, the Husker team now is completely different then the Husker team mid season, anyone with a brain and eyes can see that. Hawkeye fans keep thinking we are still that same team and they will see first hand come Friday that we have finally woke up, a lot of thats due to every one being healthy and back. Iowa is not a elitie team, there are not a good team but there are a solid team. There coach has been with them forever and they know what they want and what they can do and go out there and do it. What keeps them from Elite or good is they have no all stars on the team or game changers, they got some ballers but thats it. Huskers do have some stars and top level guys on our team, thats how we can hang with the USCs, MSUs and other top teams, we have the talent.

Now i said this before and is the biggest key to the game, its Tommy Armstrong. If hes on his mark, we will win with out a doubt, if hes off the mark or suspended, Iowa will win. If hes suspended, Iowa will win soundly. If Tommy plays but is off his mark, we could still win but will be very close or we could lose, again being close. But i don't see Tommy being suspended for this game, its to important of a game, if he gets suspended, it will happen after the game.

It's gonna be like one of those old OU vs NU matchups, where the highly ranked undefeated team gets knocked off by the lower ranked or unranked team. No hogeyes I'm not comparing you to OU!

Iowa's C.J. Beathard is 12-0 now as a starter. He got some mop up time in the 2013 win, including this QB run for 6.

Some examples I would look at first before you reach above. Nebraska is 1-4 against common opponents that Iowa played. Iowa was 5-0, if you need to know.

#50 Nebraska is the best 5-6 team that Iowa is facing this season.

Michigan State will be Iowa's best opponent on 12/5. BYU and Miami-FL are not better than Northwestern, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin, which Iowa has beat and Nebraska lost at home in the Big Ten.

BYU and Miami-FL would be rated better than Nebraska, if you use the Massey Ratings.

One of these teams is making history on Black Friday. Since 2002, both teams are tied with UVA for #19 in wins.

This is the 46th game in the series, with Nebraska owning a 29-13-3 lead overall. But, the fourth all-time winning program in FBS is tied for 19th, since 2002, with Iowa and Virginia. The list includes the following: Boise State (155); Ohio State (152); Oklahoma (147); LSU (141); USC (141); Alabama (137); TCU (134); Georgia (136); Oregon (134); Florida State (133); Texas (130); Wisconsin (130); Virginia Tech (128); Florida (127); Auburn (123); Utah (120); West Virginia (120); Virginia (115); Iowa (115); Nebraska (115); Miami, FL (112); Michigan (111); Texas Tech (110).

There is not one single second of film or piece of data that suggests the Huskers roll the Hawks. GBR.

Crazy, huh Randy. And the interesting thing is - the players seem to genuinely respect one another. The Huskers know it is quite a feat to go undefeated, and the Hawks seem to know that Neb. is way better than 5-6. I know I'm getting older but some times I think fans should just shut up and watch the game and then discuss it after the fact, if they want.

No. If we win it will be a nail biter.
Agree, for two reasons. The first is I could see NU going up a couple scores off the adrenaline of the seniors playing their last game, home crowd going nuts, Iowa needing to get up to speed after a short week, etc., but it is only a matter of time before their focused, steady, mistake-free composure brings them back. We will probably help them also by making some errors. The second reason is I do not believe 10 months with this staff has changed whatever the cultural norm is that causes NU to insist on turning even the most mundane game into a nail-biter. It is not in our nature right now to go up on a team, then put them away. You can look no further back than the Rutgers game to see that.

I am leaning that way as well. Not just because Im a Nebraska fan, but because I have followed them and watched many of their games. If you look at their stats they are very very similar to ours and we are a 5-6 team. That should tell you all you need to know. 11-0 team should be far better on paper than us and they aren't at all.

They best teams they have played have been Wisc and NW. The only difference between them and us is they have had breaks go their way and we haven't.

If Tommy can limit is bone head plays I really think this could get into a double digit win for us. The players have officially, for whatever reason, bought in to Riley. It is starting to show the last 2 games. Amazing what happens what guys actually try. This is a home game and the crowd will be rocking. Nebraska really has nothing to lose and everything to gain. At very min it will be a back and forth defensive game. If Iowa does win it will be a hard fought game by the skin of their teeth

Can't see a blowout, either way. Going to be freezing cold. Still have to favor Iowa, but if we win I'd say more like 24-21.

Looks like the forecast has changed since i made my OP. Be safe Iowa fans coming in for the game. We can have some fun giving each other little jabs here and there. But returning home as you left is the most important thing.

False optimism is that your team is not any good and you think that they are better than an 11-0 team.

And you scrubs are still only favored by less than a field goal. Over Rated much? I think everyone in the country thinks Iowa wins this game but hopes they don't just to see them get exposed for what they really are.

What does it feel like to have a Cinderella season? I thought those were just for basketball.

I guess 2 wins in row increases the optimism for many of you. I still see the same team that is not very good on D against the pass and that can score points - but tends to make mistakes on O (mostly in the form of TA throwing INTs). Iowa is a solid team - but in terms of talent this is a pretty even game with 2 teams that will be motivated. It will be a close game - like most of Nebraska's games this season.

Iowa's D has shown signs of running out of gas the last 2 weeks....so the game may be a bit more high scoring than most expect.

Its very simple, i know going to school in Iowa probably doesn't help any, you watch the Huskers play from there first game and go all the way threw till this week, you will see first hand a team that looked lost, injuryed and not jelling to what they are now, a very good offense that can hang 40 on MSU and 40 plus on 4 and 5 star loaded USC defense and now that we have everyone healthy and jelling on defense, there looking like the true Blackshirts again.

I admit, if we played Iowa early in the year, you guys beat us by 10 at least but you guys got us now, after we are fully healthy, found a power running game to add with good passing and you guys will be man handled by are 2 headed monsters at DT and see why these 2 are future 1st rounders. Remember the names, you'll hear them a lot Friday, Collins and Valentine.

Ironic

Exaggerate much?

not really. I visited this board after the Illinois game and there was a thread ranking the B1G teams. I ranked Nebraska higher than every poster on here and people were calling me a homer. I had to point out I was an Iowa fan. It is just surprising to see a fan base go from thinking they are so awful just 3 games ago to now thinking they are going to win with ease.

one of the biggest stat differences is turnovers. Iowa leads the league in interceptions on defense and has thrown the fewest, where Nebraska is 13th in Int's on D and thrown the 2nd most. If this trend continues Iowa wins, if Neb fixes this it will be a very tight game that will go either way. Iowa does not beat themselves.

Welcome to college football. Your transitive properties don't belong here. Who beat who and when and where has no bearing on the reality that Nebraska is going to stomp Iowa's *** on Friday.

So who Iowa beat doesn't matter but who Nebrasak lost to does?
