Saying when he was in HS and even in the summers, he will shoot up 100 3pt's attemptsand hits anywhere from 94 andhe hashit 97 two different occasions.... I rewinded it to make sure I heard it correctly... and Dave Neal did say it was 3 pt shots....comparing the NBA 3 pt shooters and how they do in the 3 pt shootouts having to shootonly 30 attemptsandusually hitting justhalf of them on average.</p>

Didn't he make some ridiculous number of 3s out of a 100 to briefly make the Heat roster years ago? I think I remember them giving him a last chance to make the roster and gave him a 100 shots and he made 90+. Obviously didn't work out in the long run for him, but still impressive (if I remember correctly).
Its not that hard for an "above average" shooter to get his feet set from foul stripe and make 95 out of a hundred. Considering the HS 3 line is only 3 feet or so back its doable for a set shooter. If he was taking jump shots, I would think 70's is the best that a guard of his caliber could do.
So I asked him to do it again, and he hit 92 - too bad he ending up having 5 knee surgeries and never saw the court after (messed up his knee 2nd game of his senior season in high school). But during summer workouts, he would shot at least 1,000 shots a day.
It's possible. I can't shoot for ****, and I've hit as many as 9 in a row just shooting around.
If you're just shooting around, and you get in a groove, you can just keep draining them, especially if you have someone rebounding and feeding you.
I can't shoot free throws for **** either, but I've hit more than 20 in a row, and I have a family friend that topped out at over 120 free throws in a row, so I could see hitting 97 out of 100 threes if you can really shoot.
