I'm going to have to learn to be a better fan.

I guess the last few years of Jackie, plus five years of what's-his-name, plus Mullen learning on the job have conditioned me to expect the worst.

I wrote the game off about six times the other night.

I figured if they scored on the goal-line stand that we'd have our hands full the whole night. Great hit Richie Brown.

I experienced a slight myocardial infarction when Dak tossed what should have been a pick six. Nice save JRob.

I figured the LSU rout was on when Dak fumbled to start the second half. Great bounceback TD drive by Dak & Bear, and Mullen's play calling was perfect there.

Then there were three or four more in the last 3 minutes, capped off by the Hail Mary pick. Nice play Redmond.

It may take a while but I'll get better at expecting great outcomes. I got pretty good at it in '98 and '99 when I figured as long as we had the ball last we were going to win.

Hopefully we'll get good at burying teams early and keeping the drama to a minimum.

Well, when you lose 14 straight times to someone, it's only natural to expect the worst. That said, two things...

1) Getting that first win in 15 years was huge, and the fact that it was in BR was even bigger. Sometimes teams just have a mental block in certain situations, but like another poster brought up last week, we used to think that winning @Auburn, @ Arkansas, and @The Swamp were impossible feats too. Get that first one on the board, though, and the whole game can change.

2) While I will certainly admit that I was also very nervous after the Dak fumble, I quickly realized that we've just never had a combo like Dak/JRob. Seriously, never. Those guys play like they think that they can beat anybody on every snap, and it shows when things get tense. The reality is that we're probably going to lose a few games this year, but I don't think any of them will be because our team got rattled and fell apart. It's nice to have that kind of leadership

Completely agree with both. We kept saying Mullen needed "his" type QB to make the system work and damn if it isn't working now.

570 yards of offense against ANYBODY would be impressive, but AT LSU? Never imagined it.

I'll bet we had three game stretches under what's-his-name where we didn't TOTAL 570 yards of offense.

That's the story of the day in my opinion.
