I'm guessing that if Cam returns (and maybe even if he doesn't)

that we can quit whining about no CBS appearances b/c they will pick up our early season trip to Auburn. And spin it into a Cam Skywalker vs Darth Bulldog story of redemption, brought to you be Verne and Co.

And probably Arch will be brought back to the halftime show for a special report.

He's proved that he is about the money and there is no Auburn booster who isgoing to come up with the money this guy is going to get in a signing bonus come February. He's going to win the Heisman and the National Championship, there is no way he can improve his stock in the NFL. He is gone, gone gone!

He is a monster to compete with, so I generally like anything that improves our chances. For that reason, I'd like to see him go.

But I'm not so convinced he leaves. For all we know, he may enjoy college. A lot of NFL talent stays an extra year in college. Logically, we can see he should leave, but the decision is really up to him and he he may have more complicated feelings about it than our logic can discern.

If he were my friend, I'd tell him to do what he wants to do and not what everybody else thinks he should do.

Has anybody seen a good analysis of his prospects for success in the NFL? I think he'll be great because he has that quick release, that football savvy, those feet, that speed, those instincts. But I haven't seen him in a pro game yet, and I've seen a lot of great college players look pretty ordinary on a pro football team. But like I say, I haven't really looked at it closely so I don't know how he's been rated by the pro scouts.

I dont care how much he likes college. Newton will be without Ziemba, Berry, Isom and Pugh next year...basically their entire starting offense line.

1) It was ridiculous for CBS to not show even once a 8-4 SEC team. Put it this way: When was the last time a 8-4 SEC team went all season without a single CBS appearance?

2) If you want to see hypocrisy at its finest, just sit back & watch the way Auburn treats Cam Newton after the NC game. They'll suddenly be writing internet columns about how Cam Newton is "too controversial" for Auburn & how "there are too many unanswered questions; we think it's best Cam Newton makes the jump to the NFL."

After they have gotten their money's worth out of Cam Newton, Auburn is going to turn on Cam Newton like ***** Bonpensiero turned on Tony Soprano.

someone will take Cam Newton with a first round pick too. I think Cam will succeed in the NFL. He reminds me a lot of Vince Young, and if he can avoid Young's issues I think he can ultimately be better than him. I'm not sure if Cam can come in and save a franchise from day one, but I have no doubt that he could start a year or two after being drafted.

Cam will be a high draft pick too. The way I see him, he's Vince Young, except faster and without the head issues.

He's got all the tools to be a success in the NFL, and it's not just arm strength. He has a fairly accurate arm too. At times this year when Auburn has needed to beat a team with the pass, they have. When they've needed to run, they have.

Tebow was a first rounder with less of an arm and with less quickness. The other reason Newton won't return is because I don't think he'll be able to return when the NCAA is done with this.
