No, not at all. I follow two of my pastors. They tweet about the same stuff we do- fun things, family, events etc. With Odom it's the snark about State that would be the problem. I mean, the two I mentioned, one is an LSU fan and the other FSU but they don't tear down others in support of their own.

Tell him:
1. Having lived outside of Mississippi since graduating from MSU in '85, I had gotten over my extreme dislike of Ole Miss athletics and actually pulled for them when they were not playing State. However, after reading his trash on the Clarion Ledger MSU blog over the past couple of years, my earlier feelings were rekindled as was my hope that they never win another sports competition.
2. Do everyone in the SBC a favor and step down from his pastorate (preferred) or move to another denomination. He's an embarrassment to the SBC and, yes, I am a leader in a SBC church.

LUNCH UODATE: Guy's a good guy. I showed him this thread and

the thread on the Spirit board about Chip Henderson and Pinelake Baptist. We discussed a wide range of topics including theology, church politics, the SBC, and social media. He is considering his approach to twitter and I'm considering a visit his church. His response to our comments ranged between laughter, thoughtful consideration, puzzlement, and, on a couple of occasions, bewilderment. Good guy.

If he is being genuine, then he's probably just ignorant.

I think he's simply pulling your leg but we'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume he's truly puzzled/surprised at the comments on here.
The only conclusion that makes any sense given the aforementioned, is that his mental capacity is underdeveloped. Not that it matters, but does he appear to be one who could be considered "special needs"? Assuming so, I think empathy should overrule our natural first instinct.

From Isaiah:

Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged. Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
