Under certain staffs this Board would be going ballistic.
Brown tried to blame "poor officiating" on that unfortunately that's just not accurate.
After a touchback the ref will signal for a playclock start. You then get 40 seconds. If you watch the film WVU actually got 42-43 seconds because the ref delayed starting the clock. And the players/staff obviously saw the clock was about to expire so they called a TO. So no blaming the stadium on the clock not working.
This is completely unorganized football.
You come out unprepared against a Texas Tech team missing key starters. You then get things going a bit in the second half but have multiple times where clock management cost you in that game.
You then have a week to challenge the team and prepare. You go on the road where you are historically bad and have an opportunity to get things right. You then get out and you give up a TD in 2 plays. Then on the very first play you call timeout because you are simply not ready.
The fact anyone would blame the players is disgusting because even though I'm not a fan of Brown I personally have NEVER questioned the effort at which they have played.
The team knows by now this isn't gonna work. They see the constant mistakes the staff make. They see the determination to NOT give another QB a shot.
This is just bad football all around and it starts with the Top.
BEST case is another Low Tier Bowl. Worst case is 2-10 with a loss to Kansas and 9 straight losses. In year 3.
Sorry that's just unacceptable.
