But Brian Bryant needs to start from this point forward.

I hope our lineup looks like this once everyone comes back:

PG- Dee
SG- Bryant
SF- Ravern
PF- Kodi
C- Renardo

Yet, I have a bad feeling that Riley Benock will be starting at the two even when Dee comes back. That's my main complaint about Stansbury- he plays favorites sometimes- he did it with Barry Stewart for three years, although I will admit Barry should have and did start his senior year, and now I'm afraid he will do the same with Benock.

What I like about my lineup is both Dee and Bryant can run the point. Bryant can score. You can use them almost interchangably. Riley can't run the point and just passes the ball around. Thanks to Twany getting sick, Bryant finally got a chance to show what he can do.

If he isn't shooting, he really might be the most worthless basketball player I've seen at State in a long time. All he can do is shoot, and he is too tentative way too often. Bryant is solid, strong, and takes it hard whenever he drives. How Benock could be a favorite of any coach is astounding. Although with Stansbury nothing shocks me.

You sir are an idiot. If you have been to any games so far this year then you would see that Riley has easily been our second best player consistently behind Ravern. Is he great? No. Should he be starting for an SEC team? No.Ravern and Kodi are the only two who arguably should. But for you to rag on Riley right now when he has outplayed everyone but Ray is just unfair. Its funny how he has a very good night last night but then he has a rough night tonight and gets crucified.

He has ability. He just needs to adjust to the speed of D1 basketball. He will take his bumps and bruises early in SEC play, but I look for him to contribute solid minutes spelling Bost and Ravern later in the year.

Coach Stansbury has said that his best line-up is Bost, Bryant, Johnson, Augustus and Sidney. He said that Bost is better withouthaving to run the offense fulltime and being able to create based on him breaking down the defense. However I disagree with jacksdawgs on Benock. Benockplays consistent defense and is a solid all around player. He needs to shoot more but brings alot to the table. He is the steals (13)and assists (29 to 5)leader on the team.

Riley Benock has been one of our top 3 players, behind Ravern and Kodi. Unfortunately, what I just typed shows how bad our team really is right now, but he has been better than Tranny, Steele and Brian Bryant pretty much every game we've played.

But these complaints are similar to the ones attributed to Hansbrough years ago. I understand the difference in age, but I find it funny that so many think that the loss of Ben hurt us so badly. I just don't think Southern teams will ever adopt the midwest style of basketball.

I think Riley has been solidso far this year. He plays hard nosed D and yeah he can be hesitant at times offensively, butatleast you know when he shoots, it will be a high percentage shot. I think plays hard and has a good basketball iq which is what we need. Stop hating on the kid. Thou with everyone back, yeah i could see him being a 6th man. Playing the 2.

You're the one defending Riley 17'in Benock. The only good thing about his game is it is about to be over. And being our third best player right now is a slap in the damn face to every other member of the team. The rest of the damn team should be ashamed of themselves and quit if Riley Benock is our third best player. Holy hell.

He plays great D. He is not nearly as timid to shoot this year, and he shoots well. He has decent size for his position. The only reason to wish Benock wasn't starting would be if you thought we had somebody better to take his position, and we simply don't. Smith and Steele are not there yet.

I hate to say it, but Elgin sucks. He has no jump anymore, and his lack of vertical is affecting his shots. He tends to come up short even on really short shots. He is too slow to slide over and cover the basket on D. Guys fly right past him. The injuries have just been too much on him.

do you think he would be better overall than Benock? Just looking at the box scores, Bryant has barely played half of a game until tonight.

Tonight, he plays for most of the game and does very, very well.

Dumb **** like this is what makes this board unbearable during basketball season. A million and one things to gripe about with our basketball team and you pick out one of the few bright spots so far this year to complain about. Riley played great yesterday and tonight he played with the stomach flu but still contributed.

I haven't heard anywhere that Riley was sick. I thought I heard Jack say that Beckham had been sick, but I could have misheard or he could have confused the names. Not that that ever happens.

1 point me- 0 points you. You just said Riley was third best on the team right now. So why again are you bashing him instead of the other 5-6 scholarship guys that are worse than him. Get over your hate for Riley. And actually go to a game and see for yourself.

Bryant is worthless unless he's running the point because he has no jump shot whatsoever. He does run a pretty good point, however. Attacks the paint well.

Riley spreads the floor from the 2 by making threes and defensively he's probably the best on our team. Also is the best/smartest passer both in finding the open man and effectively feeding the post.

I think you'll probably see Benock start at the 2 when Bost comes back and when Bryant comes in he'll play point, with either Dee resting and Riley at the 2 or Riley out and Dee at the 2. I don't think Bryant is a good enough point guard yet to see him start playing tons of minutes there and Dee playing mostly 2. That would probably be ideal though.

Benock has played very solid ball for us and has pretty much been our 3rd best player, behind Ravern and Kodi. I swear, it's like just because the guy is white, it automatically disqualifies him from being a decent college basketball player to some on here. He is by no means great, but he shoots it pretty well, plays good defense and handles the ball ok and doesn't drive it to the hole completely out of control like Tranny loves to do. He has become our 3rd best available player, like it or not. Brian Bryant looks like he is getting better too, but if you're going to take away minutes, take away Tranny or Jalen Steele's. That's all I'm saying.

And I had no idea that Benock was playing sick. I do agree that overall on the year that Benock has been our third best player. If Bryant steps up and has more nights like tonight, that would be awesome.

I do have to wonder if some of Bryant's mistakes have been from adjusting to D-I basketball and maybe a lack of playing in general. I hope that maybe he has turned a corner with his game.

I will say that when Dee and Renardo come back, I expect Twany to play very little and Riley to be the first guy off of the bench, although it sounds like Bryant will be the one coming off of the bench. So, I definately agree about taking minutes from Twany.

All I really want at the end of the day is the best lineup on the floor most of the time. If that's with Benock, so be it.

It pains me to say this, but Benock has not been awful so far this year. And yes, he is one of our top players. Ravern is top and then Augustus and Benock can battle it out for the next 2 spots.
He has been very consistent and plays solid defense. He does what Turner used to do which is get his hands into the passing lanes better than anyone else on the floor.

Its a sad say when he is the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team, but that just shows how low our talent level is right now. Augustus should be 2nd without a doubt, but Benock has shown consistency.

Who else would you say is 3rd? Steele? Bailey? Riek? Seriously, who? Bryant is the next person i would think of and its early in the season, but he hasnt shown the ability to be a consistent presence on the floor yet.

Look for Bryant to play a major role in tonight's game. He is clearly the fill-in for Dumbass Dee.

Our best lineup is

1. Bryant
2. Benock
3. Ravern
4. Kodi
5. Wendell

Bailey played a little better offensively last night, but he was AWFUL in the middle of that zone. When Wendell came in it made all the difference. I know Bailey is still not 100% and may never be again, so this isn't me just bashing him.

Bryant's emergence has made me feel a little better about the long *** road trip without Dee, as well.

will go down in SEC history as having logged the most minutes played but not actually registering any official stats.
