I'm not sure this game could end quick enough.

There's nothing to gain, we have no arms left, and we're not playing very well at all right now. We could be playing poorly for the first two reasons I just mentioned or they could just be tired from 4 straight games, but nonetheless I think we all agree this game can't end soon enough.

I swear some of you must watch a lot of games sitting by yourself because it would be tough to listen to a negative slant diatribe on everything that happens against your team. Its baseball and entertainment. LSU is good and better than us. Enjoy the damn game. Harder to do by radio but if you are watching, just enjoy the play either way. We have a scrappy team and who knows what happens over 9 innings. If we get beat by one of the top teams in the country so be it but enjoy how good LSU is instead of crying over us not being world beaters.

the only point in winning would be in hopes of winning the whole tourney BUT to win the whole tourney would mean playing 6 DAY GAMES IN A ROW IN THE HEAT. And that, to me, would be detrimental to our regional play next week so I say let's get the heck out of Hoover.

but at the same time, I dont want to see Sam Frost and Trey Porter pitching on Sunday. The fact of the matter is this tournament is WAY TOO DAMN long. Is there another conference tournament where you could have to play 6 17ing games to win it?

if we somehow keep it close with the #1 seed SEC reg season champions with a fr pitcher ...could give us even more confidence.

we just have to get in winnable counts when hitting, we suck at 0-2 as does most hitters.

that there really is nothing to gain from this game even if we win. We have already locked up a high/solid 2 seed and have accomplished more than enough at the SEC Tournament.

I guess they should give you the option to just call default and go home when you want to.....format sucks for this tourney for sure but how can you quit competing. If we win another game, do we get a "better" #2 placement (closer to home)?

For those who wanted to board the bus after yesterday to rest up, how do we not get a boost out of that win? Sending LSU home with a loss is always worthy and beating them in a game like that is great. Some of you should take up darts. Games are shorter and results happen faster.

Heading into this game many on here, hell even coach, mentioned that we should mail in this game to get rested up for the tournament. Nothing I said was wrong, we really don't have much to gain (at least tournament wise), are bullpen is extremely low right now, and our team was playing poorly when I made the post. Hell there isn't anyone here happier the way we won and the fact that we won, but I was just making a comment that many agreed upon.

The object is to win, and to compete well.

You would give up EARLY, and not fight to the finish.

Screw what a simple few on here would do.

Cohen is going to recruit players that don't compete and he is going to condone playing dead, you have no clue.

Losing on purpose or whatever you want to call it- that would go against everything that Cohen and this staff have tried to ingrain into our players. It would send the wrong message.

I absolutely agree that the SEC Tournament is too long. I absolutely agree that saving our arms is a valid concern. But, at the same time, we can compete and not burn our arms out even if it means pitching people one inning at a time if that is what it comes down to.

And our record should have been better than that. And one of those losses, Stratton struck out 17 guys.

was in our "best interest" to lose. Maybe it wasn't. One thing I can guarantee you, Cohen would never, NEVER, suggest that, and our players would never, NEVER, accept that. Take that ***** **** and get lost.

"You play to win the game". IF the dogpile in the infield didnt speak volumes about how our team felt then you sir are a dumb ***. Win all you can and let the cards fall where they may.Losing on purpose is for the NFL playoffs, not SECbaseball in the SEC tourney. These kids (and myself) wan to win!

To be fair, a lot of fans gave us a low, low chance of winning this game. Some said it was time to rest. But others in this thread are right; the idea that Cohen would not try to win a game is ridiculous. Now that we've won, we see how big it really is. It even makes the possibility that this gritty and talented and well coached team might even be capable of winning it all in Omaha.

is going to be awesome tomorrow. It should be especially noticeable since UK, UF, and Vandy don't draw all that well, and LSU and Auburn are out of it and Bama sucked this year.
