I'm puzzled why LASTER was not getting any mound time earlier in the year

Every other starter except Ross would have been outta there in the 3rd. This guy made the adjustment on his location took ownership of this game. As much as we struggled to determine the weekend rotation and who pitches what night, LL sitting and waiting his turn, probably knowing he could help the team out.

I've thought he should be our Sunday starter ever since he beat Mississippi in the governors cup game.

He's pitched well every opportunity we've given him and he's a lefty -- use him! I'd start him game 1 of regional, Ross for game 2, and fitts next.

He had one of the worst performances in the fall, couldn't get anybody out. Butch and Lucas tinkered with his arm slot and when his number was called he came up big. He's given Cohen the confidence to go to him now

Moral of that story....don't try to drop a pitcher down, and expect it to occur overnight. Remember Saunders Ramsey? How long did it take him to complete the transition to side-arm? Same with Caleb. Once Lucas went back to his old arm slot and approach, the magic reappeared! So the second moral of the story is 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it!!'.

Didn't we do the same thing last year though? Fitts didn't play until almost postseason play and then became an instrumental part of our run.

He got his **** rocked during the scrimmages in the fall. I believe his ERA was in the teens. Which is probably why we were so hesitant to give him chances early in the year. I don't remember them experimenting with him sidearm, I remember them experimenting with some of the other lefties, but they could have very well tried it with him too...
