this guy is a little off and has never really won ****. We don't have the players to go "pass spread" right now- so you are looking at least at 2 years of recruiting needed to be successful.

And SEC defenses would beat down our QB's the next 2 years in the process.

Not to mention I cant stand to listen to him during an interview.

This would be an awful hire for us.

and that was at a program that was very comparable to Ole Miss/MSU in the Big 12.

He never won fewer than 7 games in a season, and he won 8 or more in 8 of his 10 seasons.

You are officially not allowed to praise Mullen for this season if you think Leach never won anything at a program that really is a second tier program in the Big 12, at best.

Honestly, if you did have to find a new coach, I would hope you wouldn't hire Leach.

I also love seeing Ole Miss and MSU people complain that his defenses suck. Well, when was the last time an Ole Miss or MSU team was good on offense AND defense at the same time? When as the last time either school was good at at least one side of the football for a decade long period?

I can answer that it hasn't happened in my lifetime at either school. With Leach, you'd go bowling pretty much every year, and you'd be good on offense pretty much every year. That would be good enough for me, and if he lucked into a defense every so often, it would be gravy.

but doubt it would happen. I like Hud as a replacement. But I would also be happy with Diaz as HC, Hud as OC and Wilson as DC.

2 years...YEAH, I would take Leach in a heartbeat .... so, it has gone from we want a WINNER to we want a winner with class & debonaire who can dance through the socials he is expected to attend .... give me a break

not because I don't think his offense would work- it would- but because he has a lot of baggage that we don't need in our program and his lack of attention to defense worries me more than anything.

Tyler throwing to Carr, Brassell, maybe Tobias, Joe Morrow, Chris Smith, Bumphis, Jameon Lewis and etc. We would have the personnel to run that offense by Feb.

If we were to hire Leach, I would rather it be as an OC.

Leach is a homerun type of hire. He just wins. Period. Hiring Hud and even Diaz would be a LT type of hire.

If not Leach, we gotta take a hard look at Bryles or Sumlin. Both have proven they can win at tough places to do so.

Mike Leach is a nerd, which puts some people off, but once he won here, people would get over it. And Coach34 would deny ever being against him.

me preface this with the statement that I don't want to hire Leach either. However, to just all of the sudden quit supporting MSU by not buying tickets is 17 stupid. We are where we are, in part, because of the level of excitement that is back at MSU. That has to do with Dan, the team, the gameday experience, and also the fans (support). If everyone all of teh sudden quit supporting the team because they didn't like the hire, **** would go downhill REAL quick. I mean you're free to do what you want, but that's my opinion. Now there was a time in crooms tenure when that had to be done, but he didn't deserve it right off the bat.

But you don't want Leach as a coach, trust me. He is a good offensive mind, yes. But "all he does is win?" What has he ever won? He won (a little) at Tech, that's it Never even won his division in 10 years. His defenses are always putrid, because he just doesn't care. Also because his Playstation attitude towards offense always puts his defense in a very difficult situation.

More to my point, he's an embarrassment. That whole pirate crap may have been cute at first, but now it's just sad. He's terrible with alumni, and thinks he's above anyone in administration. Basically he has an ego that he hasn't earned. You want him no where near your program.

we have seen plenty of evidence in the difference in an SEC defense and a Big 12 defense

I hope we don't lose Dan, but if we do I think Leach would be a great hire for us. As for the "baggage" - who cares? He has less baggage than Sherrill had.

i just can't see our program being in better shape when he leaves than it is now. or even in equal shape.

I think we go after the pipe dreams first (peterson, patterson, harbaugh, richt)
Then you go after the likes of Rich Rod, Malzahn, Strong, Whitingham, etc.

Do you look to Tubbs?

Who else do you throw in there? Did Wilson take the Indiana job? How about Major Applewhite as an out of left field candidate?

Go back to your website. Rarely wrong my ***. you are good entertainment for the board, but not entertaining enough to keep around. And yes Leach would be a terrible hire

whose entire offense is predicated on the ability of our QB to throw the ball 50 times a game. People may say "but we have Tyler Russell." That may be the case, but even he could succeed in running Leach's offense that puts Miss St in the position of having approximately one QB that can run his system in the last decade and a half. It's not as easy to find these guys in Mississippi.

I'm was a frat boy and I love Leach.

I've even hung out with him some. Great guy. He ain't coming to State so ya'll have no worries there.

The only thing the AD understands is buts in the seats.
Plus, I just don't like Leach.

I'm tired of ********, when we can do better.
Also with Leach, who has sued ESPN... it will not be advantageous for MSU in ongoing dealings. We just don't need the ********!

And fooling with your website. Been here plenty. Tyler is doing fine and wont tranfer. And if he does, the the State fanbase will do what they do best and kick out our best recruit in years for the NEXT big thing.Its always the next QB thats gonna be great right? Wyatt, Madkin, Fant, Conner, Russell, Dak is next. Looking forward to the next one after him. Now go back to your website

I don't want Leach either. However, I just feel that if someone quits pulling for msu because of a hire, right off the bat, msu doesn't need that person as a fan. Just my opinion.

I think I've earned the right to object!, and stand by it.
Over the last 40 years I've attended anywhere from 4 to 7 games every singleyear.
Miami would not even give Leach an interview, why should we? He is damaged goods. Yes, he can coach football, but seems to have issues. Hell even Woody Hayes(yes, I know that is old)
the winning-est coach at Ohio State got fired because he hit an opposing player. Some **** you just can't do.
And like I have said, something about Leach, I just don't like.

I just tired of going along with everything,... just because.

Other than that, I'm just not going to worry about it,until it happens.

the guy turned **** into ice cream for 10 years and mullen has done it for 2....

There is also a difference between Big 12 and SEC offenses. You don't run into many ball control offenses in the Big 12, which means you're going to give up more points.

Auburn won the SEC this year with a mediocre defense and a dominant offense. I never thought I'd see that, but clearly even the SEC is adopting some of the offensive philosophy that's prevelant in the Big 12 and Pac 10.

I'm not even thinking Leach would win an SEC title at Ole Miss or MSU. He probably wouldn't, but there aren't many coaches that would at either of our schools. He could guarantee you that you'd have a good offense though every year, and you could just about guarantee a bowl game every year. At Ole Miss/MSU, would that be such a bad thing? If you had a coach take you to 10 straight bowl games, you'd have a statue built for him before he retired. You might even name the stadium after him.

Leach went 47-33 in Big 12 play too I might add, and that's having to play Texas and OU every year. The best any Ole Miss or MSU coach has done in conference play in the modern era is Cutcliffe's 25-23 record. No other coach has even been .500 in conference play.

If you don't like Leach because he's crazy or because he's suing his former school, that's one thing, but to pretend the guy wouldn't be better than most of what you could find out there is stupid.
