Last week the Ark game was the battle for the Cotton Bowl. Now according to some on here, we are headed to the Liberty Bowl... What the 17?

/Peach or GTFO!

was the Peach rep saying this past week that we had to beat Ark to get an invite from them. I find that....almost unbelievable, but it could be they're hoping to grab UF or USC. Complicating matters is the possibility that FSU could end up in the Peach, eliminating UF as a possibility.
Honestly, I still think Liberty is the worst case scenario for us. Lose out plus LSU losing might get us there. I would hope we could still swing the Music City, but with the repeal of the rule that you can't take 6-6 over 7-5, the old SEC power brokers can play their old games, and those games have never favored us.

If we had beat Ark and UM, and LSU beat ark, we could have had Aub in NC game, LSU in Sugar, Alabama in Capital one, South Carolina in Outback, and we would have been the logical Cotton bowl pick at 9-3.

Now,if LSUwins andMSU beatsUM, we should still be in the peach or gator, unlesswe get passed over for a 6-6UGA team (which I'm not sure if that's prohibited or not). IfLSUloses to Ark andthe SEC only gets one team in a BCS bowl, then we're in trouble, likely getting passed over by the Gator in exchange for a 7-5 or 8-4 UF team.

If we lose to UM, we're liberty or music city. NOt sure how they pick those, but I'm guessingMusic City would prefer a UK or UGA team and Liberty would prefer MSU, just b/c of location and ticket sales.

we are more than likely Memphis bound. The Music City will take UK or UT over us, all day long. The Outback Bowl showed us that record does not matter one bit when it comes to bowl selection.

If Auburn qualifies for the national title, then the Sugar is sure to take either Arkansas or LSU as their at-large replacement selection. In that instance, as long as we beat Ole Miss and get to 8-4, the Peach or Gator Bowl is as far as we can fall. I just can't see either one of those bowls taking a 6-6 Tennessee team, 6-6 Georgia, or a 7-5 Kentucky team ahead of us. But if the SEC only gets one BCS bid or if we lose to Ole Miss and drop to 7-5, we're falling to the Liberty/Music City/Birmingham tier.

Scenario 1 (Auburn to BCS Title Game)
BCS - Auburn
Sugar - Arkansas/LSU winner
Capital One- Alabama
Cotton -LSU/Arkansas loser
Outback - South Carolina
Peach - Florida or MSU
Gator - Florida or MSU
Music City - Tennessee
Liberty - Georgia
Birmingham - Kentucky

Scenario 2 (Auburn loses to Bama but beats S. Carolina)
Sugar - Auburn
Capital One - Alabama
Cotton - LSU/Arkansas winner
Outback - South Carolina
Peach - LSU/Arkansas loser
Gator - Florida
Music City - Tennessee
Liberty - MSU or Kentucky
Birmingham - MSU or Kentucky
