if we go down 17-7 like the cocks did at halftime, do we come back like that? I do not know. Gotta sco' first and ram the ball down their throats.

We will be playing with a chip on our shoulder in this one...
Based on what?
Based on what?
Based on the fact that they have been heavily criticized about their effort and execution in the past two games...as much as any team in MSU history that I can remember being criticized for victories. And that is mild in relation to what Mullen and our coaches have had to say about it in practice. They are going to play with intensity because they want to prove they are better than what they've shown the past 2 games.
Russell will be surgical in this game...and Bump will get our all-time receiving TD record early. Defensively, I look for a much better effort as well. Just my thoughts on it, and I guess we will see early on Saturday.
Also, 11 AM road game @ Commonwealth < 6 PM road game @ Troy as far as playing in a hostile environment goes...

You never played organized football did you? We're not going to have a chip on our shoulder again until October 13th. Probably because it'll be at night and at home. That will be off the charts.
When you "take the next step" athletically, you do not NEED external factors to motivate you to perform your best. You self-motivate in the pursuit of perfection. That is what I think you start to see out of us against Kentucky. If you are competing against "another team" or "another venue" you are already two steps behind mentally. Competing against yourself in attempt to be "perfect" allows you to minimize external factors affecting your performance. I think this is what we start to see, especially from Russell and our offense.
I'm not wary of Kentucky. Damn people we have a good team and its about time we get some confidence as a fan base. I mean 17 it's Kentucky, they are usually a mediocre team who we usually whip and this year they are garbage. Troy would beat that *** in Lexington. I will worry when we don't ***** slap Eddie lacy in he first quarter.
Not saying we should be overly concerned this year, but you're dead-wrong about our series with UK. Most of the games are close, and they do still hold a slight all-time advantage.
* Mullen has never lost to Kentucky.
* State has won 4 of last 5 and if Croom had a decent kicker in '08, it would be 5 of last 5; in '07, they were ranked #14 and Croom beat them in Lexington 31-14
* We are 'healthy,' have had two weeks to heal and prepare for upcoming SEC games
* Kentucky just lost an emotional game they led at the half; lost their starting QB, starting safety, two RBs are 'day to day'; TE won't play; QBs are both FR
* We are #2 with a +3.25 TO margin; Ky is #107 with a -1.2
Look for the 'Auburn' gameplan ... establish run; add short, quick passes to TEs & RBs; agressive defensive pressure on Ky Qbs.

I want our team to see how many points they can get in 60 mins..regardless of score.
I think they'll come out flat Saturday. It'll be an early game, the crowd will be small, and they will definitely not be enthusiastic. If we come out and score on the first drive, it could lead to a blowout. If they stay in this game, it will be because State is still sleepwalking.
Wait, what?
I am with this guy. Anyone who is worried about this game is forgetting that we are a good team now and that it is no longer the Templecrxxm years. You really don't seem to understand just how bad this Kentucky team is, either. The only team they would have a chance against this year is Arkansas, and their team this year might be worse than our dumpster fire of 2003.

If we play like we did against Troy, we could lose.
We beat Troy playing like we did against Troy. And Troy is a better team than Kentucky is.
