You SHOULD be glad someone has common sense because YOU and the OP don’t have any. Damn. Stoops could win back to back championships or he could go winless two years in a row and it changes nothing. You don’t take shots at the football team (or the Rifle Team for that matter) to make your point. Triple C knows the tremendous history of UK basketball. He can lobby for anything he wants but leave the people out that don’t have a dog in the fight.
Life must be difficult for you. Having to watch Cal on the sidelines as UK wins a majority of the games they play this year. Life can be difficult sometimes.
Kentucky is a basketball school if you don't think so then I'm not sure what to tell you. Probably nothing. Just not paying attention. Football is very exciting right now but a final four or championship feels amazing. Hopefully football gives me the same...... That Robinson catch vs Iowa got me going crazy but not Final Four crazy...
For the UMPTEENTH TIME, it's not a question of which program has the most successful history, it's that the NARCISSISTIC coach of one program felt the need to USE the program that just got approved for an upgrade to pressure the AD into giving his program an upgrade.
In that process, this SAME coach DISRESPECTED the other program's coach, assistants and players with those SELFISH comments. NEVER belittle another UK program to try to leverage your boss for an upgrade to your program.
I hope this helps. Now let's put all of this behind us and go out and win #9 in basketball and the SEC Title in football!!

Besides me, most people i know love Kentucky basketball but they follow other football teams like Ohio state or LSU. I hate that and call them non uk fans but it is the truth. We are only a basketball school and a nothing in the SEC much less college football for football. Cal knows what he's talking about here.
Upsets and bad seasons happen to the best coaches, ask Self and K. It just seems worse to our fans because our run of bad luck happened in a 2-3 year period. Cal has us back on track. Tennessee isn't the same Tenn team we owned in the past, Barnes has put together very good teams that could beat anyone.
We probably would have 2 titles under Cal if we hadn't been screwed over by the refs with the Monk/Bam/Fox team.

I’m on the edge of, yes it’s true and nothing wrong with the truth and how he could have said it differently. I think he could have chose his words more carefully, I just don’t understand why he is being blasted for the truth. It should have been handled in private with Stoops being like Cal, I don’t appreciate the comments about our football team and Cal being like ok cool and then it be over. Trolls have kept this going way longer than it needed to. Trolls took that comment and ran with it to cause issues and it worked. Then people who don’t like Cal in the first place, hopped on board because they want a reason to hate him anyway. Our football team and basketball team are possibly the best they’ve ever been in the same season and haters can’t stand it.
Let's see which team is it that is finishing on a high note the last 5/6 years? I know I'm a much happier fb fan right now than I am a bb fan. Cal stepped in a pile of HS and he showed his true colors just like he has with the oad/Sharpe fiascos! Also, I hope you do realize that 11 of the last 15 NC in cfb have come from the SEC with 4 different "football schools" Stoops has done a terrific job building the football brand starting from scratch in the batters box driving Hyundai while CCC was given keys to a Mercedes starting on 3rd base. I know which one of them I think would be the easiest to replace.

It’s the culture Barney has created to pit bb against other sports. The guy has been a total failure as a steward of this program and it doesn’t have to be this way. Bb should get what it needs no questions asked. Barney seemed to like the battle between stoops and cal or he woulda just kept his yap shut instead of this built up presser he did. Cal wouldn’t say boo if Barney just did what he should and make sure bb is always taken care of. It’s a low overhead sport that brings in disproportionate revenues. I don’t know too many people outside of alum or Kentuckians who would spend money on UK Merch if not for our basketball tradition. So it’s a no brainer to make sure that program that has been on top for it to stay on top. Barney is the one acting like there is some sort rotation to take care of programs. Basketball brings in enough to sustain itself and most of the athletic program. It’s also why the national media for generations have given a crap for uk athletics. I’m not happy with Cals results the last several years but no way in hell do I was Barney near another bb hire.
He had to mention fb bc stoops used his job as leverage to get new upgrades to facilities. Cal doesn’t have that leverage bc barney will say “you don’t like it then leave”. Thank god cal is standing up for the bb program and in this manner he has to.

Well ... are we hoping "stupid" can be fixed? Calipari has now stated that he will raise funds himself for the new practice facility. If I were Barnhart, I would tell Calipari, that he will not do that and to focus on doing to do the job he was hired to do. This ploy by Cal is a way to make the AD look bad, further creating a divide with the administration and fanbase creating an unhealthy atmosphere across the board. Fans who support Cal in this are no fans of the Program and University as this will only spiral out of control and do damage none of us want. Calipari is sick and twisted. I don't think he has ever left a coaching position on good terms. He's a narcissist and seems to be wired for mayhem and chaos unfortunately.
Wow. That's what you think of when you think of Cal. He made a mistake man. Then apologized for it. Maybe your twisted IDK but I've seen him do countless good things for people and whole regions of the country. He wants to raise money to make the university better that will last forever. I think that's pretty hight character. Not putting the financial burden on the University. Once again ahead of his time. Perception and reality are two separate things I suppose. As far as his type A personality and ego..... That's what makes John Calipari's, Kobe Bryant's, and Michael Jordan's. With brilliance come madness even EINSTEIN was a nut job. Some people can't see what others are blessed with.
Cal's made many mistakes when he's paid very well to be a bit more measured. You've got national pudits now openly declaring UK should part ways with him. I don't care who you think he is ... a coach doesn't run his mouth and denigrate a fellow coach for personal gain. This mantra about "my" players is telling ... deeper problems there. Barnhart was hesitant about hiring Cal in the first place ... maybe he knew something many did not and felt caution was in order. He took a chance on him and now this is Cal just being who he is. You can't put guys like Calipari on pedestals and think it will all turn out peachy. He's a narcissist and that's always going to be a problem. A guess we'll see ... just too many flags to ignore that potentially much can go south suddenly. Trust me when I say ... I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
I didn’t know Triple C said that. If that is true (and I said I didn’t know) then UK has a huge problem. Triple C needs to coach basketball. The university needs to take care of allocating funds for buildings and renovations and administrative tasks. If Triple C is actually that far over the edge he should be fired. And … keep in mind … I’m unaware that he said he would do the fundraising. If true that would make him mentally ill.

Then he will drive to Louisville and get that job, or UCLA....Maybe Kansas. I don't think he has done much wrong, at all. Not a single violation of his doing. Camby git an agent(nit on cal) rose and the SAT test. Not of them involved Cal. I'm sure if those two young men talked to him first they wouldn't have happened. I believe that. History repeats its self. If Cal gets any type of violations ill bet it involves a player or coach doing something he didn't have anything to do with it. People hate the best.
What's the difference in boosters donating for their alma mater people build libraries and all kinds of buildings and put their name on it all over campuses maybe that's his way of giving back
Not sure I totally understand what you’re saying (my fault) but my point is that Cal needs to coach, recruit, and take care of the basketball program. He has no business being the Chairman of the Basketball Practice Facility Renovation Committee. He’s having a hard enough time winning games, SEC Championships, NCAA games … especially against St. Peters.
Yep ... I think I saw it on KSR and his latest PR guy (Tucker?) echoed the same thing about "Cal having his own ideas" for raising funds for the "state of the art" practice facility. That sort of thing will create significant issues with the AD and the Board, and it should. He's being paid to coach, not advocate for how the University spends limited funds for athletics. Someone mentioned that Barnhart, during his presser, mentioned the word "entitled" multiple times. I didn't hear the presser, word for word, but that would seem to indicate "someone" feels entitled to those limited funds before others.
Fundraising for capital improvement falls under the purview of the University, not a coach. At best, it is coordinated through and approved, step by step, with the Administration for many potentially serious legal reasons. Coaches just don't unilaterally act on their own when they are a part of and are funded by the University.
I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with anything more than this. This is just more total BS from Triple C trying to stir up sh*t. Policies are in place for athletic upgrades and Cal’s NOT a decision maker. People give MB hell but it seems like Capiluto has the support and respect of most everyone. I wish he would just shut Cal down and shut him up. This is becoming a joke. Geez.
