Early in the season Highfill batting .154 (2-13), may have a better chance at getting on bunting than hittingWe just bunted with runners on first and second and two outs in the third with Ross Highfill up, down 1-0 to Missouri State. It didn't work of course.
Why have him catching? He’s the weakest of the 3 catchers we have on roster defensively.Early in the season Highfill batting .154 (2-13), may have a better chance at getting on bunting than hitting
I was thinking the same thing. And, we had him in RF last Friday in the 2nd gameWhy have him catching? He’s the weakest of the 3 catchers we have on roster defensively.
Yep. That combined with how things played out last year, this staff seems to hate Joe Powell for some reason.I was thinking the same thing. And, we had him in RF last Friday in the 2nd game
Of course he was bunting for a hit. Doesn’t change how dumb it was though. Best case, you’re successful & you still need a hit (or walk or error) from the next batter to score. You haven’t really accomplished anythung. And odds are you’re going to end the inning 70+% of the time. Stupid.Highfill likes to bunt for a base hit. He gets down the line in a hurry. Did it successfully yesterday if I’m not mistaken.
Fair enough. Probably not a great decision odds wise.Of course he was bunting for a hit. Doesn’t change how dumb it was though.
