GW Danville's Carlos Poole 19 TDs (10 passing, 9 rushing)...ZERO picks.:oops:o_O.. Twin brother Carl Poole Jr. maybe the hardest hitter west of Dinwiddie. In other worlds, them BOYZ GOOD. Don't sleep on the Dirty Birds.

One twin is 6 inches taller than the other?
Carl (#14) is the safety/LB/RB. He's probably 6' 190 but will probably be around 220 by the time he's a freshman in college. He'll play safety at the next level. IMO, he's a hybrid between Malik Clements and Tim Glass. Los (#15) is a legit 6'3 and growing. He'll pick and choose between D1 basketball and D1 football. Kid will probably be the best SF in the state this year. Long arms, can shoot, defend and will rise on you. Don't talk no trash. A lot like Miller from Loudoun Valley. Should've played varsity last year. One of the best QBs I've seen play for GW (with respect to Hunter Byrnes, Jamie Harris, Percy Moorman, Chanston Rodgers and their uncle, Nate Poole). These cats are the real deal and even better kids. They come from good stock.

Easy sports head I've spent several games in that rickety visitors pressbox doing games on the radio. I've seen some of the eagles best (David Wilson) play, Im glad to see GW back in the mix. Those twins are very good and I think people at overlooking a good team. If sale m finishes four and GW five you know what that means??????? Tailgate at the Texas tavern....BOWLWITH CHEESY WESTERN HOT WITH .....BUTTERMILK

Putt you are correct. We have a sophomore (Wesley Graves) who a lot of people believe will go down as the best RB GW has ever had if he has good health. Shawn Watlington, who is also a sophomore, may be the best receiver GW has ever seen, but to be fair, historically, GW has been a running team. I also believe that your Spartans and my Danville boys will lock horns come playoff time. I don't care what anyone says, the Region (C and D) goes thru Salem! I don't care if Salem is the 8th seed, they will be the favorite to represent that side of the state in Williamsburg. I do believe that my Eagles are 1 of 2 teams that can challenge the Spartans with the other being Blacksburg. Glass is very good too but I don't know if they have the "it factor" and experience to match what the Spartans possess.. I could be totally wrong. Glass beat GW up real good last year and I think that they will be very scary come playoff time. It will be a very fun and interesting playoffs this year.

They have grown a lot since then. I would have thought this picture was from 2 or 3 years ago. And Carlos told me yesterday he's not playing basketball. Hopefully he will decide to play at football season's end.

I heard from another source that he isn't playing and will focus strictly on football but I didn't know how accurate it was. Legitimate blow to GW's basketball team imo.. Kid is a baller! If he continues to improve as a passer, we are looking at another Lamar Jackson! I know Carl didn't play basketball last year and focused solely on football. Carl is built like a Mack truck! I think these guys will gain right many offers over the offseason for football along with Wesley and Shawn. These are high quality athletes and even better people.

You probably need to sip a little more slowly on that kool-aid until you see if the defense ever shows up. As far as those youngsters go they are good looking athletes but, still a ways to go before they are ready to reside in the high rent district. Running backs like Lewis Sr. and Jr., Wilson, and a host of others. WR not necessarily as plentiful but, I will throw out two names. One is Herman Moore and the other is a guy who had he actually used football as anything more than a distraction would be on anybody's list, Ridge McKeither. There are others that could be mentioned but, my point is those kids may eventually be that good and best to let them develop on their own pace than placing oversized expectations on them as underclassmen.

Hey I agree, just repeating what I've heard from some of the long time boosters but I definitely value your opinion greatly. Kenny Jr. and David were the best RBs I've ever seen at GW and probably on the high school level. I'd also add Antonio Fitzgerald to the receivers.

Those teams with Kenny Sr and Buddy Curry were pretty darn good. Curry would knock your head off. He was a pretty good college(UNC) and pro player (Falcons)
They were the headliners. There wasn't a player in the first 22(none going both ways on a regular basis)that they had to hide. Daryl Chandler was the other back and although less celebrated than Kenny was just as lethal. Buddy was also the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and captained that Falcons defense.

Kudos to you DSH and to Lewis. While it is a one game sample size and it still needs to be proven they can replicate the performance you guys were right that getting Poole back on D would be a huge lift. GW played solid D Friday night and moved toward a squad more balanced on both sides of the ball.

Once we get Elam back we'll be better. Still a long ways to go but a good start. The Poole brothers are the real deal! Our D-Line is getting better and better. I think moving Watlington to defense is the right move as well going forward. Franklin County next up!
