It says an awful lot as to how great this board is that you continue to manifest that attitude towards the team that this board is dedicated to....and are still allowed to participate in the conversation here.
What other board would allow such a thing ?

I'm not on many, but the Michigan board's quite liberal as this board.

also...my post was in response to scarletdave who was making fun of Indiana....where Rutgers has zero room to make fun of Indiana.....so, a little perspective.

All these number and now a good executive summery= on offense we are about equal 44 and 54 about equal at in the mid 50 range On Defense I give Rutgers an slight advantage again our mid 50 number about average but your 88 is going into a bad performance range. Our D advantage is we can stop the run but we both suck on pass D! Pass Yards allowed RU=115 IU=125 ouch!

Your figures for offense are incorrect. IU is 2nd in total offense and RU is 4th. The 14th (IU) and 10th (RU) rankings that you have are for total defense. Also, you might notice that for "sacks against" IU is 2nd and RU is 8th and for "turnover margin" IU is 1st and RU is 13th.

As a Rutgers fan, I'm not sure I want to see a backup QB play against us.
Completely agree, although I'm also not sure I want to see an injured QB come in, particularly one with an ankle injury. Remember the last time that happened!

Bottom line, we just need to play with the same level of aggression and intensity as last week. We do that and we'll be just fine.

Better program than Indiana. Were not talking basketball.

Here's a look at actual results for Indiana and Rutgers over the last 13 seasons:
Indiana.....50-105....roughly 4-8 per season....with ONE bowl....in 2007
Rutgers....89-74......about 7-6 per season....with bowls in 2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2011,2012,2013,and 2014.
Yeah, I know what you're thinking: what happened in 2010 ?

Sudfeld was cleared for game day play, Tuesday, and Howard is practicing. We better be ready and bring our "A" game on O and ST's.

If Howard and Sudfeld both play, I want to see a lot of ankle tackling by the Rutgers defense.

IU still would have struggled. Do you really think IU would have beat Va. Tech, or WVU, or Miami (the U at its best), or Syracuse of old? IU would have still been in the bottom half of the league. Even Boston College might have been too much. IU would have battles with Rutgers and Temple for basement honors.

Vatech and Miami have been in the ACC for a good 10+ years, i'm talking playing PItt, Uconn, cuse, USF, cincy instead of OSU, MSU, PSU, Michigan, Wisconsin. Yes I'd say we'd have quite a few more wins, quite a few more bowl games.

But your recruiting wouldn't been as good.

We never have had great recruiting classes. Our last 2 classes are our best ever, thanks to wilson and the staff. You'd be surprised how bowl games and more wins will improve a programs recruiting, is a type of double edge sword of playing for bowls in a lower conference vs playing the big dogs but less likely getting to bowls.

I think an objective person would say that, yes, you would have won a few more a games, but still missed qualifying for bowls. USF had consistent solid teams after joining the BE, Cincy was a relative powerhouse, UConn blew you guys out in 2003 right after they stepped up to the Big East so likely that you would have rarely beaten them, Cuse struggled and you would have beaten them more than you lost but overall, Indy was not a very good team in almost every year.

Well, the metric shown was over the last 13 seasons. Here are Rutgers records and conference schedules (with Massey rank) over that span.

2014 - (8-5) Rutgers (B1G), 1 OSU, 5 MSU, 14 Wisc, 28 Neb, 55 Maryland, 56 TTFP, 62 Mich, 83 Indiana

2013 - (6-7) Rutgers (AAC) - 17 UCF, 18 Louisville,49 Houston, 59 Cincy, 89 SMU, 100 UConn, 105 Temple, 108 USF (Indiana was 65)

2012 - (9-4) Rutgers (BE) - 24 Louisville, 30 Cincy, 40 Cuse, 61 Pitt, 81 UConn, 88 Temple, 89 USF (Indiana was 85)

2011 - (9-4) Rutgers (BE) - 21 WVU, 29 Cincy, 56 Louisville, 64 Pitt, 69 USF, 77 UConn, 82 Cuse (Indiana was 112)

2010 - (4-8) Rutgers (BE) - 28 WVU, 32 Pitt, 47 UConn, 51 USF, 57 Cuse, 60 Louisville, 76 Cincy, (Indiana was 85)

2009 - (9-4) Rutgers (BE) - 7 Cincy, 16 Pitt, 26 WVU, 34 UConn, 46 USF, 83 Louisville, 80 Cuse (Indiana was 91)

2008 - (8-5) Rutgers (BE) - 14 Cincy, 18 Pitt, 31 WVU, 44 UConn, 50 USF, 80 Louisville, 95 Cuse (Indiana was 103)

2007 - (8-5) Rutgers (BE) - 3 WVU, 17 Cincy, 20 USF, 33 UConn, 55 Louisville, 64 Pitt, 100 Cuse (Indiana was 65)

2006 - (11-2) Rutgers (BE) - 5 Louisville, 10 WVU, 36 Cincy, 38 USF, 55 Pitt, 73 UConn, 75 Cuse (Indiana was 68)

2005 - (7-5) Rutgers (BE) - 10 WVU, 18 Louisville, 37 USF, 89 Cincy, 62 Pitt, 75 UConn, 104 Cuse (Indiana was 79)

2004 - (4-7) Rutgers (BE) - 31 WVU, 32 BC, 42 Cuse, 34 Pitt, 59 UConn, 103 Temple (Indiana was 90)

2003 - (5-7) Rutgers (BE) - 7 Miami, 33 VTech, 45 BC, 29 WVU, 35 Pitt, 60 Cuse, 103 Temple (Indiana was 102)

2002 - (1-11) Rutgers (BE) - 1 Miami, 19 WVU, 23 VTech, 29 Pitt, 33 BC, 74 Cuse, 77 Temple (Indiana was 94)

So... at least according to Massey end-of-season rankings, whatever that's worth... Indiana would have been ranked ahead in just 12 of those 92 games (and 4 of those were in one year, 2013). Rutgers went 39-53 in those match-ups.

This should be renamed "The Official Indiana Prediction Thread"

I can't say I see the Hoosiers winning. We have X factors. They don't. If our defense operates like it did last game, then a one legged Sedfeld will not be able to win the game on his arm alone. (yeah I know, Bridgwater, but that was his front leg not his plant leg). They will not have an answer for Carroo. They will not have an answer for Grant. So far I haven't seen anything that could drastically give them more advantages over us. They let Sackenburg of all people singlehandedly destroy them Michael Vick style. Pedd state didn't even use their RB that game. What's going to happen when James, Martin III, and Hicks get the rock?

Mental mistakes on our part, Penalties, or turnovers will have to go their way for them to win. It could be close, but I just see too much Rutgers overwhelming them in the end.
