RAIDERS will play Union at HOME (Bragg Stadium) on Saturday @ 6 pm.

ACHS will again be offering satellite/overflow parking at the old Thomasville Plant. 1st exit into Appomattox, you will see a big white factory on right. turn right at Dairy Queen and enter parking lot of Thomasville. Shuttle bus pick up and drop off. Gates open as early as 12 noon.

Welcome UNION fans!!! Just FYI, we are famous for the civil war ending here. Lee surrendered to Grant and we have the Surrender Grounds and a Confederate Museum here.

Great places to eat. Authentic Italian is downtown at Mama Terezinhas, Bull Daddys (fried oysters are GREAT), El Calador (mexican), but I prefer the Taco Wagon for mexican (one time, you will be amazed), Downtown we have hometown cooking at Granny Bee's, BBQ spot called Railyard Sports Lounge Restraunt that has a bar in the back if anyone wants "spirits" before the game.

Great Coffee: Joe Beans and Baines Coffee downtown.

UPDATE:
As per Appomattox administration:
Once we tear the ticket they can't leave. Concessions won't be open until probably 4:30 at the earliest.

There is a wrestling tournament going on now at Appo and parking might be tight. Tournament might last to 3 PM.

Oh and yes, painting field now and fans were here at 7 30. lol

Yah. I went to the Heritage vs Blacksburg game last night and Heritage support was very much lacking while Blacksburg had a very large fan base there to represent.

Clarke travels very good, but never seen a team travel like Union. They did the same thing at Clarke last year, waited for hours to get in, they even brought their own rescue squad, and packed Feltner Stadium.

Had not heard a thing but knew of a head on in glady's and my first thought it was some student from appo. Was relieved it was not but stil saddened by the loss caused by a drunk driver.

That does not surprise me at all. Union fans travel very well and are great fans. They stood outside freezing last year when they travelled up here to Clarke.

Met some great fans tonight. It was awesome talking to yall before game. Met a dude named Stork, great guy. I was painting field and them fans were outside at 7:30 AM.
Yall had about 2/3s of what Richlands had last year as far as fans go. Great showing! Never seen it as deep as Richlands and Amherst last year.

Amherst always traveled well but I must say that you guys filled Amherst stadium this year more than any other team. Very impressed. The concessions could barely keep up, the busiest they have ever been. Hope you enjoyed our stadium

I am not saying this this to boast but the thing appomattox did tonight that I haven't seen others do when facing a fast return guy. They kicked off every time to union's best guy in right corner and he returned 1 of 7 past the 20. That tells you everything you need to know about how much speed appo has. I am saying this because last night 2 teams that were supposed to be fast squibbed every kick off. (Note : I was impressed with Mitchell from union as he looked good)
